Interfaction Balance
January ClanWars is unique in that it is the first time since June that we have collected interfaction balance data. For many months, the league simply wasn't active enough for us to be confident in the reliability of the data. Now, it is. Since January was played entirely on either Version 2.1 or Version 2.2 (which contained no balance changes from Version 2.1), the data is entirely representative of the new patch. There have been numerous comments about certain factions being more powerful than others, with each faction sharing the accusations more or less equally. The actual stats should help clarify things a little. Of course, statistics cannot tell the whole story of which factions are most balanced - but they are a pretty good starting point.
Compared to June (and patch 2.02d), things look much closer here among factions. Both Dwarves and Elves appear to be stronger than others, and Men appears to be ranked lowest of all - primarily due to extremely unfavorable match-ups against Mordor and Goblins. Perhaps this is a statistical fluke - we can't know until next month's results arrive. Elves are the only other faction with two imbalanced match-ups, against Isengard and Mordor.
