Hi,

When you go in the enemy base so early, you can be sure that :

The enemy commander will go back to his base OR he will go to your base.

So why don't you build 3 pd in your own base when you see that he is not coming back to his own base ?

You can end this game earlier with some pd smile.gif

You lacked energy to power build PDs, you could have fixed this by pausing your factories. The higher priority than getting more mantii out, was getting pd's up to stop comm push. If you'd paused, game would have been over right there. Same thing when your comm was in his base, you needed an oc or 2. Pausing your factories would have given you the needed energy to do so, you can always turn them on right after.

Thanks to the two of you. I figured as much, when i noticed his commi on the expansion point it was obvious i had to charge his base. Yes, you were right, being able to overcharge would have helped a lot, wasted too much time with normal shots there.
Same goes for the PD thingy. I had lik e -200 energy. At least i stopped the air factory + the assisting engineers biggrin.gif

I posted not because it shows skill or something, but because it was an interesting situation. He abandoning his base, im charging it, he attacking my main, fortunally i was able to win because of my forward base.

thanks

Most of what I was going to say has already been said, but I think one of the most important points is, when you've committed your commander to rushing his base, make sure you have a big surplus in energy so that you can OC a few things. You should aim for his factories first, because in such an early stage of the game, if you can kill all but one of his factories, he will be unable to OC you back because his energy storage will be less than 3000. You have to have at least 2 factories to be able to OC something (or have a lot of engineers or energy storage, but at such an early stage of the game, there aren't enough engineers). So basically, keep a strong eye on your energy when you comm rush. You started power building an air factory which put you well into the negatives wich made OC impossible.

Then you should start taking out his energy production. That way, even if he does manage to get another factory up, he won't have the energy income to OC anything. Plus, being low on energy doubles as a mass shortage, because you need energy to produce mass.

On smaller maps, I've started going air factory second because of the usefullness of air scouts and the fact that if you can get just 3 or 4 interceptors out before him, you can really fuck him up with bombers.

Oh, another thing. This is just a sort of general annoyance, but it just so happened to affect you. When you started building your second land factory, you placed it down over top of a forest of trees. When you do this, your engineer has to reclaim everything in the way before he starts building, and sometimes they have to reclaim the trees one at a time. Because of this, he managed to get his air factory up before you even started building your second land factory.

Also, when you're in his base with your comm, pick one target and just finish it off. A lot of times I saw your comm shoot one thing like 5 times, then shoot another thing 5 times, then another thing.... Pick one thing that's important, and kill it. Or, reclaim a factory, or capture it or something. Don't waste all of your firepower.

And that's all that I have to say about that.
