At first, I thought I started off well, but then he turtled up, so I had to switch my plans to stop him from winning. I almost lost this at one point it seemed, but I did some good moves with my units to stay up. The main thing I want help from in this replay is how did my resources go so sour? Also what should I have done to recover from this and keep my production up.

Winter's Duel - Kingsrevenge (red) v Astronaut (green)

Well, here we have another 1v1 match up on the family favourite, Winter's Duel. We see Kingsrevenge starting on the east as UEF and Astronaut starting on the west as Cybran. Astro leaves his commander at his start spot to assist with building and opts for the engineer method of taking the map. Kingsrevenge however uses his comm to take the middle and aims for more T1 factories. King steadily pushes forward keeping Astro firmly on the back foot. Astro makes it to T2 air and land but is it enough?

Kingsrevenge

+ Pushed the middle ground with comm and units.
+ nice bomber swarms

- Didn't cap your second mass spot until 2:40 into the game. As a result stalled mass VERY early on. Aim for two mex + two pgens prior to a factory.
- Minimal queuing up of orders for ACU/Engys and factories.
- Poor energy production.
- Did not attempt to upgrade any of your mass extractors.
- Scouting would have made your bombers much more effective as you could of done more damage by using them earlier.

Astronaut

+ Good start build order (although I would build the pgens prior to the mex).
+ Use of fabricators to supplement your economy
+ Upgraded mass extractors.

- Built a second factory and left it idle for quite some time.
- If your going to build radar, don't build it on the front line.
- Did not pressure the middle area.

Common issues
- At points you both had idle factories. Use the shift function and set up queue's for your engineers and set the repeat option on your factories. Also while a factory is in the process of being built you can still select it and queue up build orders. You do not have to wait for it to finish.
- Poor use of scouts. As both of you built artillery, scouts would have given you greater range in your attacks.

Summary

Different strats from both players made for a fairly interesting match-up but skill levels stop it being a 'must see'. One player had a stronger grip of building economy, the other, attacking. Not a bad display but a long way to go.

Score 3/10

lol

"Not a bad display" and "3/10". Does that even make sense?
"Not a bad display" would be a 5 or a 6 maybe. A 3 out of 10 is just horrible. post-13661-1143531603.gif

Nah. 3/10 is not horrible, its rahter mediocre. A total average game gets 4. 5+ is already decent.

smile.gif Not saying it bothers me, but I think the large difference in rating between two different 'things' using the same system, is surprising and kind of odd.
But ok, I will stfu now. >.>
