IMO he should have build more T1PDs .. The Cybran ones have more DPS and are better at killing T3 units as T2PDs.
Of course T2's have greater range, but still the efficiency/cost ratio is better for T1PDs.
Especially if you have T3 Bots incoming that are going to march right trough! By the time they get to the your PD's the Auto Gun will have done more damage than it's longer ranged sibling.
If you are Aeon and build only T2PD's you are practically doomed against SABs.. Once they run past them, loosing only 1/5 of their squad, your PD's are going to level your base and your units because of a 1000 splash damage per hit...

A forest of t1 pds would've helped, yes, but he would need to have foreseen that turn of events minutes ago which is not really feasible, especially in the heat of battle and Poita was probably counting on finishing off Unconq's ACU which he was so close to accomplishing. Imo, "siege" bots should be called "heavy assault bots", that describes them more accurately, there's almost nothing siege-like about them.

Maybe Siege Assault Bots because they can break the most powerful siege on your base and afterwards assault the enemy biggrin.gif

Anyways, gg. Poita clearly outplayed Unconquerable by miles. To be exact, i found nothing good or innovative on Unconquerables side, apart from the obvious T3-i-want-to-win.

Not really! 2 T1PD's cost just a little less than a loyalist, and he already had a lot of engies working that factory ...
Look, 1 T1PD has almost double the damage output of a loyalist(91 /\ 166) for half the price (540 /\ 250 mass) .. the range is almost the same (32 /\ 30)... T2 PD's only do like 115 dmg/s .... And if you build your T1 PDs early enough, and can protect them, they get a upgrade to 210dmg/s, that's almost 2.5 times more than loyalist's on them own ....

So if he would have build 2 T1PDs and 1 Loyalist, he could do damage equal to 5 loyalists ... so let the enemy come with his 2 HABs, for equally much resources spent (BTW: SAB's does sound cooler! wink.gif )!

But the point is that he does need at least one loyalist, because someone has to take the damage! Those PDs fall pretty fast and dead they are useless!! biggrin.gif

On the other hand, as you mentioned, T3 bots outrange T1 pd. So by giving a straight attack order your units will down T1 PD without mercy.

well, ya .. that's where my loyalists come in.. to take the damage .. and besides, i did mention to have Auto Guns for fire support, not as a main defense! They fall far to fast, and it's better to build T2PD's in front of them once you get the tech! ...
In this particular replay (and any other involving Harbingers for that matter) they just waltz through the base all the time and any T1PD would have had enough time to do damage like they are supposed to!
Another thing I noticed is that units prefer other units for targeting, rather then PDs so that gives it a even opportunity for killing any units that came too close!

AND YES, they would fall in a straight attack order by a lot of SAB (HAB wink.gif ) if left by them selfs!

BACK TO TOPIC: Nice replay, Had lots of fun watching it! biggrin.gif

Well i cant disagree, however it should be noted that T1 pd has like 850 HP. Any decent enemy will give a queue of attack targets to his army, obviously ordering his douzen or what of siege bots to take town T1 pd first, because, as you said, they have a very good DPS.
Lastly, i think you slightly overrate T1 pd. While its pretty powerful, the average siege bot has like 4500 HP. Now your t1 pd does like 150 DPS. That does mean it will take a T1 pd a whole lot of time to kill a siegebot. Usually the enemy will either kill your pd, or walk behind it to rape your inner base, at last leaving the range of your T1 pd.

To sum it up, you shouldnt try to counter T3 with T1 tongue.gif

Poita, you didn't sieze the advantage you clearly had.

Spamming air was your best bet... I'd have gone fighters and gunships.

However, once you saw he had T3, you needed to spam cerebus on your two main bases...

You looked as if you completely failed to have an end-game strategy (ie, how you intended to end the game) as well as you failed to observe or properly react to his end-game strategy.

That's why you lost.
