I would love to know how I ended up double posting here.

I have never double posted in my entire life, and in my head I always make fun of idiots who do it. Now I'm an idiot.

funkoff i think you could´ve won with fatboy spam if you would´ve just played it better.
First, what i always do when using fatboys is: send two SCU with bubble shields along with them! activate whenever necessary. these shields hold 44k damage each! that makes your Fatboys just soo much harder to kill. and even if you would loose the fatboy in the end, you can still keep those two SCU alive most of the time.
Second: spam Wasps to protect from rippers. They are very good against rippers once you reach a certain number of them. Keep that Wasp swarm just for use against rippers, never send em into enemy heavy AA areas

Mavor is completely overpowered it should be a hell of an artillery piece but not better at penetrating shields than lets say 3 T3 arty. Right now the mavor is a 'i win' button, and its the only 'i win' button in the game

Most obvious one I saw was early on load like2 transports with engi and mobile shields and drop them in the blind spot between his mex and immdiately spam PD's / flak/shields. He had no radar and his AA was rather slack there for a good while so there was defiantly time to get it done. Then just expand forward with pd spam, get some arty up. )RDon did it to me...bastard.)

I don't remember doing this to you. Do you go by a different name on GPGnet?

It was in a custom 2v2 a few days ago (-Elder-Apollo6). You got pd's and flak up but no arty cuz we pushed your base when you did it.

Yeah, that was ridiculous how fast it won the game. 3 shots I think it took, and that was with 6 shields wacko.gif Sure it costs a lot but when Ragnarok's disruptors couldn't even put a dent in your shields I think it's a bit ridiculous.

FunkOff, you were turtling as much as he was. It's not as if you were completely owning him and he wasn't making any attempts to be aggressive. He was sending Soul Rippers, Monkeylords, Loyalists, strat bombers and autoregen SCUs at you. I'd say he was being much more aggressive than you throughout the game.

I think the mavor is necessary.

And yes, I think I played better than ragnorok. He turtled. I was waaaay more offensive that he was, I was attacking his base constantly with T2 and T3 units. I had fatboys on his base for a long time, 90% of his action was defensive.

Aside from a few scarce attempts, thall the attacks on my base were just attempts to destroy the mavor.

I'll takes prepare
s advice on teh SCUs... but it really shouldn't take that much to counter a 20k mass unit.

Disappointed.

Personally I think both you guys turtled. There was a gap between 20-30 mins where nothing really happened and I got so bored watching you two do nothing I eventually switched it off. Sorry, but you two were much the same, you attacked more sure, but, not enough. If you had kept up the constant pressure rather than always holding your ground you could have won early on. Not only that, turtling is a dis-advantage. Not a crime.

P.S. Why do you still place so many mass fabs next to T2 Pgens? I thought this was universally a lousy idea.

I think plain old impatience hurt you a whole lot here, especially in regards to those Fatboys and T3 mobile arts.

A number of times you had T3 art well in range of his base, but you kept moving it around with the rest of the troops so it couldn't setup and fire. I know they're a pain in the ass, but if you're going to build them at least make sure they get to fire.

Similar with the fatboys, I think you kept moving them forward needlessly. They're not fast enough to dodge anything, so keeping them moving doesn't help protect them at all. By getting them closer to the enemy than they needed to be you just opened them up to bum rushes by SCUs and SABs which otherwise would have had to run through the fatboy's cannonfire.

The "right" way to go about it, I think, would have been to start creeping into that space btween your firebase and his main base a lot earlier than you did. By the time you even started your creep he already had his 2 Scathis firing at you. Earlier in the game you had pretty much pushed him out of that area, but you didn't move in until he had his big defensive screen pummeling anything that ventured out from under your shields.

But yeah, without the Mavor I don't see how you could have won in the endgame. Between all those SAMs tearing up the air and the Soul Rippers and Revanents tearing up the ground, nothing was getting through there.
