this is v3220 so if a mod could chuck it into title be great thanks.

i use my base as a bait (a juicy trap awaits) and he bites on it hard, thou really hard to bolieve that he took it so easily, thou in some instances offensive com can be a nasty thing..

thou a bit bit of scouting would have done him wanders.

o yea basic was using few mp taunts at start as was i so i screwed up my BO a bit but defenitly a good game....

a review of this would be awsome. thumb.gif

That was some pretty smooth luring work there man. : ) He left his comm a little long in the turrets, but even if he didn't, with no ints your bombers would've finished his comm off in no time. Nice work, was a lot of fun watching something like that actually work out so well! biggrin.gif smile.gif Way to play the mental game! ^.^

Pretty fun game with interesting use of tactics by SuperiorX. Both had a fairly similar opening BO, but Basic got the advantage by holding off on the second mass point, allowing him to begin pumping units out before SuperiorX had begun his first factory, which gave Basic the land advantage from the get-go. SuperiorX got into trouble early on by stagnating about 2 minutes in, he lagged behind in factories and economy - Basic out-produced SuperiorX throughout the entire game. If it wasn't for SuperiorX's creative thinking, this would have made for a difficult comeback. SuperiorX did a good job of capping his share of mass after the first few minutes, as Basic focused on pushing units up the middle instead of fanning out, but he did do a better job of protecting his engineers than SUperiorX did, who didn't protect them at all. Apparently, due to some taunting (which I wasn't able to see sadly tongue.gif), Basic decided to go offensive comm right into SuperiorX's base! Oddly though, he moved his Comm quickly to SuperiorX's side, but then danced him around in at the north-middle part of the map for about 5 minutes, he could have easily knocked out SuperiorX's tank production! Meanwhile, SuperiorX was trying to create a win by baiting Basic's Comm into the northern plateau of his base and laid a trap of multiple PDs while he produced as many bombers as he could. This worked, with the help of some really poor use of the comm by Basic, who literally walked right into those PDs, losing half his health before turning around - Basic's comm was down to ~2500hp by the time he got out of PD range! SuperiorX took advantage of this and used his bombers to attack Basic's comm ending the game quickly. Great show of strategic thinking on SuperiorX's part, but he really shouldn't have let it come to this, though he did make lemonade out of a situation in which he was dealt lemons biggrin.gif. Good show!

SuperiorX

+Took the bottom-right side of the map from Basic quickly and capitalized on him ignoring it.
+Great planning and foresight to bait his comm and turning it into an advantage! Bravo!
+Better Econ than Basic almost the entire way through, he should have had a much better economy but didn't.

-Single factory at start, Basic had his third mostly finished before you started your second!
-No use of adjancy except power, you could have increased efficiency by building factories next to mexes, this wouldn't have cost you any more time and would have saved at least 10% mass per unit. Use this!
-Decided to cap two mexes instead of one then factory and it cost you land control. Basic was able to out-produce you from the beginning. You also weren't able to raid him at all because of this.
-Lack of scouting, though it was certainly better than Basics total lack of scouting.

5/10

Basic

+Good opening BO, was able to take land control from SuperiorX from the very beginning.
+Used flares for some early raiding, though you didn't use them as well as you could have. At least you tried smile.gif
+3 Factories up and producing quickly! This gave you a huge advantage in unit production, too bad you were careless with your comm post-13661-1143531603.gif
+PD'd up your main base to push SuperiorX's comm north away from you and keep the units he was producing from harassing your unit production and econ.

-Adjancy bonuses anyone?? This game had one of the worst displays of adjancy I've seen - use the extra efficiency afforded by mexes! Doesn't waste time and saves resources.
-Not enough opening power, you lagged way behind your opponent in energy. You should have at least 1 engineer producing power gens.
-No protection of the right side. This was a pretty poor mistake, especially on this map. Two or three PDs at the passage would have kept SuperiorX's comm out of your territory for a good part of the game.
-No scouting! If you had done better scouting, you would have seen SuperiorX's base of ops below your comm, a two-pronged attack (from top with comm and flank with auroras) would have negated the PDs and allowed the destruction of his factories. You could have also done with before he put up any PDs at all by scouting. This would have allowed you to focus on his northern plateau and possibly avoid his plan.
-No air! Almost inexcusable, a few interceptors would have been more than enough to thwart his plan.
- Poor management of Auroras. You could have made more effective use of your auroras, the only reason SuperiorX didn't get dinged is because he didn't have any to micro biggrin.gif.
-Dysmal use of comm in the last 3 minutes. You should not have lost more than maybe 2000 hp to those PDs you walked into, but instead you lost over HALF before you turned him around. By the time he was clear, you were down to roughly 2500hp, which allowed his bombers to take you out in no time flat. Pay better attention!

3.5/10

In summary, this was an ok game - certianly interesting.SuperiorX's score got a bump for his foresight in formulating a ballsy strategy and executing it with grace - like a pro. However, Basic allowed this to happen. He made poor use of his comm and of his land advantage. He out-produced SuperiorX handily, but for some reason (whether it's easier said than done or not), he made poor use and allowed SuperiorX to pump out more units and keep more mass points than he should have.

Overall: 4.5/10
