It's been a while since I played, so I thought I might post another replay. The game is almost only tech 1, until I go boom in minute 23.
I have the better economy during the entire game, but somehow I managed to lose the game. I think I built landfactories a little too late, and Adlermann is better at micro'ing his mantis.
Any hints and tips (or, a complete review O-)) would be highly appreciated.
Very interesting game on this very nice map that I started to like in retail version...
Both opponents started as usually, mex pg pg land factory I don't know what. Adlermann kept having slightly better economy, but invested his advantage in into 6 scouts in the beginning before having any mantis force out of gates. At that, 3 can handsomely cover all mid battlefield on this map, forth would give him great view of the Rienzillas base. Funny enough, not one of these 6 covered the mid part of the map, where most of battles took place in the early phase of the game. Also because of that, Rienzilla was having slight upper hand there. Thank to that, he could sacrifice some force and sneak through a mountain opening in the SE part of the map, and could also take NW cliff with two mexes. At this point he had 5 more mexes and I thought there's no comeback from that.
But then, at about 8 minutes into the game, he probably started upgrading his mexes and that choked his economy. Suddenly, field was all red in the middle, nothing coming out of Rienzilla's factories, but I still toght it will turn back. At that point in time both ACUs met in the central part, Adlermann's winning mini battle, Rienzilla's having to retreat with only 8% on the health bar. He did so, factories seemed to be pumping again, and what's more, Rienzilla had way more of them. One moment it was 13 vs 9 land factories (not incl. those 3 Adlermann eventually killed near mountain pass. I thought once again this is decisive advantage, but Adler proved me wrong. Despite of this, Adlermann was pushing deep into Rien's territory, playing very smart, attacking resources and crippling such opponent's factories more and more. Also, in the backgound, his engies were doing a good job and quickly caught up on the factory disadvantage. Also, first units appeared in the air. Even though only two bombers, before Rienzilla could build any AA, half of his PGs and mass fabs were history...
Rest was just matter of time. Again, very nice game from both side, I am not even sure what decided it. I was looking at both economies several times, I think Adler just better managed his mex upgrades. Really recommend to everyone, one of the better I have seen...
Adlermann + good economy start (but serious energy deficit soon after, which probably caused Rienzilla's early "lead") + very good battle micro, especially in the later stages of the game, good moves taking out opponents resources, flaking wings to avoid defenses, etc. + very nice comeback with upgraded mexes, improved economy and surprising air strike - too many scouts in the beginning (never though I would say that ) with very bad coverage - let opponent take whole middle part of the map, wouldn't come back from that against better player - factory reclaim abuse
Rienzilla + good factory spamming + nice map coverage in the beginning, I liked you went out and reclaimed the base ruins in the middle - mex upgrades mismanaged (?) - you should never let anyone come back from such situation - weaker micro in battles - factory reclaim abuse

Just something i wanted to add, to the good overall review. Rienzilla, if you do upgrade your mexes to t3, you should really build 4 storage around them. That will increase the mass gained from +12 to +18 which is equivalent to 6 mass prods and 12 generators .. and wont just burst into flames from 1 air strike
might consider that next time , way more efficient, in my opinion
Well a few hours later we actually met in a ranked game (usually we do custom 1 vs 1 together). But rienzilla got that match. But even worse, because he was not ranked very highly at the moment, I lost 44 points in the ladder
