This was an interesting game. Aside from the fact that had he actually made any attempt to build radar I would have been quite hosed, we were both economy starved. I think each of us had anywhere from 6-9 mexes at any given time until the end. I never used formation-move, perhaps I should have.

I would describe this game as a demonstration of harassment to the extreme, because there was no real dead time. As soon as either of us had 10-20 units they were sent somewhere to do something. I had a very hard time upgrading my eco, nevermind factories, amidst the throwing around of units, and had to settle for one T2 factory. I don't think T3 was attainable or sustainable for either of us...

Other lessons learned, triads don't suck quite as much as I thought, but they are still crap. As long as they have some T1 PD around them they can survive long enough to get a lucky hit or two. They don't seem to have a problem hitting enemy commanders though...

Very good game!

I'm impressed to see someone use UEF to such great effect... the odds were against you in the match up, glad to see you managed to pull off a victory.

Heh thx.

I think his lack of radar was what really saved me however. If he had built a T2 radar further into his base where he could protect it there wouldn't be much I could do...

Well then, that's something you should keep in mind.

Keep an eye on your opponant next game... and if he builds radar, try hitting it. There are a variety of ways to do this, but a T1 bomber works most consistently. Remember that Radar towers have extremely low health.

Ya I know. I did that. What he didn't do was mix scouts in with his forces, and stopped rebuilding his radar.

I wouldnt necesarrily say the game was "good". It was refreshing and entertaining, but not good, as in skillwise good. Both players build too much useless PD, instead of using the res to get more units. wtfwillis, your early game was really messed up. Your commander was walking around like he had some kind of illness. Work at that.

Buildings Obsidians was a fatal mistake, i believe your opponent wasnt that experienced, else he would have stopped massing useless tanks.
What i liked a lot was your use of Triads as some kind artillery. It was hilarious to see his commander approaching your outpost with 10k hp and running away with 2k biggrin.gif

At any rate, i enjoyed watching the game a lot because it was outstanding in context to all boring T1->T3->mass T3 replays.
7/10 from me.

the aeon player didnt really know what he was doing for the most part. i almost cried when i saw all of his ints get slain by your ground units.

Thx guys, good feedback is always helpful.

Ya I was surprised when my opponent had ints, then suddenly didn't. I didn't have the eco to take advantage of it (PD's are pricey). My PD building was a gamble - I thought he'd try using T3 bots. He didn't, oh well. He was also greener than he first appeared to be, which is probably the only real reason it was easy to turn the game around.

Ya my points weren't set up properly when I did my comm builds - I know aeon can build a max below the cliff from up above in that location, but I have a hard time placing him properly... clearly practice will make perfect there.

I still have to figure out a way to tech my mexes sooner/faster. I wanted at least a few defensive PDs because I was up against aeon and had no intention of using units to defend myself, only harass. I eco was deep in the red masswise for quite some time, and if I stopped unit production I would have been pushed badly I think (and thought). If I were to somehow quickly tech a mex next time, maybe instead of that inital PD, I would have been far better off economically.

People use Oblivion cannons as some kind of artillery, but notice how he gradually build Triads to take out 1 mex and 4 pds covered by walls. Plus, it was still interesting .p
