lets see:

red had no T2 AA, placed his ACU nicely for a kill - 2 Tacmissiles couldve killed him aswell - are Tacmissiles OP because of that?

white had no T2 AA and no Interceptors, he did a few Inties after a while. Utterly raped him

green had lots of Ints initially and most of your Mercis just sunk into the sea. You only came through when he had his fighters elsewhere or by flying off-the-map (which is still one of the ugliest exploits IMHO). And he had no T2-AA.

If you play like before and try to ignore the new unit(s), then yes, they will eventually kill you brutally. You just cant get along like before, caring only for your eco till you try an attack.
You can counter Mercis with T2-AA, its killing them very fast. With good intel you can sent a few Ints their way and they die without getting a chance of attack.
I dunno if they are OP or not, but certainly this replay only shows that players havent adapted yet. Once they did (ie. actually build some defenses) and they still get utterly raped, you got a point.

yes, but you can take em apert bit by bit with the mercy spam. even if the ints catch some mercies, those that get though just rape the eco, and outlying stuff.

i've seen one replay where someone actually had enough AA to fend of groups of mercies. that was a test game from funkoff, iirc, where he literally had a line of T1 mobile AA around his base on isis, paired with T2 AA.

Some players have nice little mercy rushes already in place, that they do on any ranked map and they win 9 of 10 games with it. Of course this doesn't concern top player, who scout very well. however the average player is screwed by this in almost any case, as only a horde of AA will actually stop it.

There are only two types of people who won't admit the Mercy is OP and IMBA... a total fucking retard and a diehard Aeon player.

The tac has to be deployed in a forward position that is secure, not the safety of your starting base position. Also a tac only needs 2 units to cancel it out, a TMD or a shield, or even just walking your commander to make them miss. Again only a fucking retard with a brain infested with parasitic worms could honenestly compare the Mercy to tac missiles.

Amazing. I suppose you created those two types of people out of the dust when you noticed how my banner MIGHT indicate im a aeon player. Actually i was but that months ago.
Mercies are stoppable, though not easily. Use T2 AA (mobile or stationary doenst matter because its the AoE that makes the win) and you are done. They have 10 hp each.

But yeah, comparing mercies to tactical missiles is not a good idea.
They are new, people need to adapt to them. The game it out since how many hours now ? I remember when people were screaming for bomber rushes and even top players were bomber rushing with aeon. It was pretty much the same as it is now.

Give it time. 2 weeks max. i think tongue.gif

Your comprehension skills are a bit low incase you think I equalled Mercies to TML. Mercis have an counter - namely T2-AA, lots of Ints (less reliable) or any other combination of AA. If you have neither then you shouldnt complain about getting killed, and thats quite compareable to having an ACU standing in the field without TMD and eating 2 TacMissiles.

Just getting along with building eco wont suffice anymore, now you need to build fricking AA, scout and build more AA if needed - the replay demonstrates what happens if you dont.
