RDon vs. GovtCheese

I would like to tell a little story with this replay, but before I do so, I would just like to point out that this strategy is deadly. It was referenced by Apollo when I did it to him once, and here it is for all of you to see.

My story goes something like this:

I sit down one night, and decide to play my favourite computer game, Supreme Commander. I play a few custom games, and a few ranked games. I come across one particular game against GovtCheese. The game just so happens to be on Fields of Isis, a map which has a very different style of play than most maps in this computer game. Over time, I have developed a certain strategy which is very difficult to defend, and I use it so often, that one may say that I am unable to play on this map without it at this point.

When I execute this strategy, a discussion evolves between myself and Mr. Cheese. The discussion progresses something like this:

Cheese: "off screen bs"

RDon: "I didn't go off screen, watch the replay"

Cheese: "I had radar"

RDon: "stealth"

Cheese: "you can't see transports with stealth?"

RDon: "no"

Cheese: "that strategy is homo"

Mr. Cheese then goes on to use a feature in this beloved game which enables a player to rename any unit. He decided to rename his Commander "NOOB STRATEGY".

I eventually pummel Mr. Cheese with my superior forces. After all, he was left with no more than a few basic mass extractors to fuel his war machine, clearly not enough in this scenario.

After the game, when redirected into the GPGnet chat channel, I recieve a private message from Mr. Cheese, and another discussion ensues:

Cheese: "you're telling me that it's logical that if a stealth unit is in a transport that it can't be seen?"

RDon: "dude, how do you think it works? I don't see why not"

Cheese: "so you can't see the transport if there's stealth in it?"

RDon: "no, not on radar. You need line-of-sight."

Cheese: "interesting"

RDon: "that unit is the only reason I play Cybran right now. It has won me many games."

Cheese: "yeah, you need it, especially with your econ."

RDon: "what? I don't understand what you're saying."

Cheese: "you're a weak player, and the only way you can win is with stealth"

RDon: "you're an idiot. Maybe you should watch the replay, then you'll see that my economy was blowing yours out of the water. I had like 5k more points than you before I did the drop."

RDon: "you suck more than me because I had a better economy, seeing as how we're measuring skill in this game by how good your economy is. After all, it was a game on Isis."

Good game Mr. Cheese. Good game.

Nicely done. I'm very familiar with this little maneuver, but I don't think I've seen it done by T2 rush like that.

Nice strat, but I have to say... stealth had nothing to do with it.

The whole time the trans were within his radar range, they were also within LOS. Sky slammers were attacking them before and during hte landing.

Against, Stealth had nothing to do with it.

I'm also aware that he could see the transports for most of the flight, but I load a stealth in there anyways, because sometimes it does hide them better, and he can't target the engineers after they land (without LOS).

Did you at least like my story?
