Really, if Gollum had just sent his bots directly into FunkOff's base and once there done nothing but destroy T2 power gens earlier in the game, he could have sealed it way before. Not to mention the attack on his ACU later that if directed on buildings could have destroyed almost his entire economy. It was close to killing it, but he could have been more patient and done econ killing, knowing he could repeat the same attack again without nearly as much resistance.
That was pretty massive. It's easy for people to say shoulda, woulda, coulda after watching. When things are that close you don't get alot of time for lateral thinking.
There was no point in funkoff reclaiming the wrecks as he was always as full mass anyway due to mass storage and not building as many units as he possibly could have.
RS_Gollum was pretty screwed for engineers tbh all of the ones he had were assisting to keep up with funkoff, he was building more but he didn't have enough spare in order to reclaim the wrecks.

Harbingers can reclaim, and there were lots just standing around in piles of wreckage.
