Haven't played 1vs1 in a while, decided to hit the ranked button this morning. And even though I "unhit" it after 14 seconds of search (I like to play against similarly ranked people), the game still started somehow. We're both Cybran yet he left the initiative to me and I somehow outraided him. Still feedback would be nice, please someone from our gurus here :-)
You were pretty lucky that guy wasn't very good. If he had gone to SABs you would have been screwed.
-sat there for a minute early on, when you could have been raiding more -didn't get SABs even 20 minutes in -didn't upgrade MEXs until really late, though not as important on palms. -had your only t2 engineer build PD instead of stuff that would help you press your advantage like arty or TML or more factories -had a massive energy surplus you weren't using. Should have had a couple engineers build fabs. -had a massive mass surplus for a while, which should have been used to upgrade MEXs or something.
+you got lucky with your PD placement, Spoon kept running into them instead of going around or something. +good job on early game raiding. it was funny seeing his line of mantis run into his backfield past your units. you didn't take advantage of his mistake though. +you had a massive energy surplus. +built plenty of factories.
Thanks a lot. Most of the things were there, because I was struggling with making things happen in this game, for me it was like too much going on. About SABs, I was watching him, and he got nowhere near them, so I wasn't hurrying either, I actually got them same moment he died. And for MEXes, you said it, I didn't really need need them, actually started to upgrade them because I didn't know how else to use the mass.
Wow, I was so bad. No raiding, only defending. Didn't Tech up. Didn't scout enough. Didn't use my ACU for pushing forward. My starting build order has improved a lot since.
