So after watching Eshez's replay on this map, I was thinking that maybe I shouldn't just rush straight to harb spam and have such a boring game of T3 bot crushing. I tried building oblivions on the high hills, but apparently, they don't work there. So then I tried tact missile launchers, but he found them too quickly. I did manage to take out his first T3 factory with artillery over the cliff, I'm guessing he wasn't too familiar with this map and didn't realize how important it is to protect that cliff. Anyways, I did eventually lose control of everything, probably because I started neglecting my economy and he had a gazillion T3 bots, so I tried to do a lame strat bomb assassination. And of course, he scouted me before I could do it, so I used that fact to my advantage.

Lesson learned here. Scouting is key, and don't just dick around when you're kicking ass, finish it off.

As for me, what else could I have done? Was it pretty much my economy and late T3 bot spam that let him take the huge lead?

Now that I've actually watched this carefully, I realize that my economy actually wasn't all that behind his for most of the match. He didn't take off until I completely stopped teching and focused on my strat bombers. The big difference was the fact that he dumped practically all of his economy into spamming bots.

A lot of things I would have done differently. I think the missile launchers are actually a good idea, but I should have targeted something other than his T3 factory, because he had 20 engineers on it, so any shot would have gotten repaired so quickly. I should have killed fusions, T3/T2 mex, power gens, and stuff like that. I'm gonna keep building those launchers on this map, cause the map layout is so good for them, hard to get to without bombers, and if you catch his commander standing still in range, gg.

Now I just have to do some testing to see where T2 PD can actually shoot from.

While I was watching this replay i kept shouting "target those mexes target those mexes ":) I did the same trick against out the other day. I destroyed al his t3 mexes and his t2 and t3 power. He never knew what hit him biggrin.gif

And defiantbliss really didn't protect his base for artillery. I saw you attacking and thought, the next round will be artillery........

Yeah, when I was pushing forward near his base, I was thinking, hmmm, he doesn't seem to care that I'm about to arty his T3 factory. It ended up not hurting him that much actually, as he just rebuilt it in about a minute.

But the missiles for sure. It just takes to many to take out a T3 factory, and considering he rebuilt the first one so quickly, it was stupid of me to even think about taking that out when all of his resources were right in front of me.

I actually just played a game against someone on this map. He wasn't as strong as Defiant, but I managed to build 3 missile launchers basically in the same place and snipe his comm who was standing still for just a bit too long.
