Here we have a pretty close Cybran vs Aeon game on OP...He had me scared for a bit, but my OC saved my butt wink.gif

A review would be appreciated, especially for critiques on how to improve my play here wink.gif

Cool game. However, why did you decide to spam hunters instead of Mantis ? Is there any particular reason ?

Well, I switched to using a bunch of hunters after TAG_ROCK beat me soundly (more like whupped me) on Theta when we were both Cybran and he massed hunters....

On maps with a fair bit of space (say Palms or Theta) I find that hunters tend to work better early on (first 5-6 minutes or so) due to their low cost and fast build...I can pump out more and build more facs earlier, then switch to mantis when I have a bit more mass...

It's a bit less effective against Aeon, due to the long range of the aurora, but still a strat worth exploring

Ill try it. The only concern is their relative strength to mantis. While a hunter costs 50 % of what a mantis does, he only has 20 % of their HP, thats my biggest worry about them. That, and the fact that a commander only needs one shot each.

Yeah, I definitely would not send Hunters against Aurorae ever. Besides, given the map, there's probably not much reason to use Hunters. Open Palms gives each player 15+ extractors and that's plenty to support multiple factories spamming Mantises. On Winter Duel or something small like that I can see going Hunters early as a viable strategy, but not on a map with this many mass points.

Oh well. It seemed to work out in the end. tongue.gif
