"This is the New Isis"
That's what's sneakers said when we both decided to quit the game instead of wasting another hour finding who would be the random winner.

Might be fun to watch on x5 speed or something smile.gif

I've posted a little something on the GPG forums.
back me up smile.gif

Hmm, I think either of you could've won this if you stopped for a moment and thought about ways you could win.

Eshez, at the end you have complete control of the air. 10 or so gunships could've destroyed all his tier 3 mex. Sneakers had air control earlier on and probably could've done the same.

Also, either of you could've put some tier 3 mobile AA on the central mountains. It wouldn't take too many to create a real problem. Tier 2 stationary arty could've worked as well.

Why did you draw? You had a Czar coming and you had complete air superiority. He didn't even have any air defense.

Neither of you defended your second spawn point mexs. A flare drop or two could've wiped out 8 mexs at any point in the game.

You both played very well but you both got consumed with the Harbinger spam and didn't really try to do anything else. Sneakers went for a Shocker assassination but didn't do it very well. Those bombers really need a screen to get in close.

You could have walked straight through the middle with your harbs without a problem and destroyed his entire economy before he could react (all his power would have been exposed)

I didn't post this to get comment about the gameplay.
I know we both didn't do that great and I don't think any of us played that hard either.

I'm just looking for support about this map biggrin.gif

Lol ok.

Well I don't think it's the new Isis. While it does share a lot of characteristics (2 spawn points each, choke points) it does not have the "impenetrable barriers" that Isis has. The mountain edges, if undefended are perfect spots for artillery. If you want to sit back and turtle then you would have to control both sides along the middle otherwise you risk artillery barrage.

I actually don't mind Isis that much anymore. If you turtle you give up 8 mass spots in the middle. That's enough to gain a good advantage imo. Also, aircraft play a very important role in these maps with choke points as they allow you to cross or even break the chokes. If you and sneakers had used bombers you could've broke each other's front lines.

I think these maps should stay although I like Syrtis more than Isis because of the lack of "impenetrable barriers".

If I can't crack my opponent with bigger economy that is 90% dedicated to T3 bots something is wrong with the map.

next time I'll know bigger economy is not everything on this map ohmy.gif

Just played this map, its pretty horrid, went for mass gunships and took map control that way from him. He went land but tbh he didnt get very far due to choke points etc.

Arty here is key. The bases are in valleys which make them rather easy to harrass from the ledge. Whoever controlls the hills here should win this game.

Wasn't this a map that Unconquerable suggested? I'm not saying that you guys are wrong cause he's god - that's not where I'm going with this. But this map has some interesting dynamics that I think make it a great map. There are lots of cliffs and valleys, with mexes spread out in a way that encourages conflicts on the outer edges. It's difficult to turtle this map because of the dynamic of the cliffs - one can use arty to dominate pd from a far or by moving along the cliff edge (like in WD).

This map might require some changes in typical strategy or tactical thinking, but I don't think it's a bad map by any measure. If you sat there and threw t3 bots at someone and when that failed kept doing it, the problem is in your overall strategy, not the map.

That's a great idea, actually.

From now on, whenever I can't beat my opponet, I'm going to blame the MAP.

Rather than dedicate 90% of your economy to T3 bots and be all like frusty.gif you might consider shifting your economy to, you know, one of those OTHER late-game things you can build.
