Strange how easy it is to win with ground vs air..

edit: I know my opponent wasn't really great, but I always like to get feedback on my play. So any feedback is appreciated!

A few things:

First, you won mainly because both of you were pretty passive at the start and he spent his money on a LOT of turrets while you spent it on mass extractors, factories, and units.

Second, your landspam was pretty solid, but since he had no land force to speak of, you shouldn't have been building Demolishers. Arty is only useful against blobs of land units. You should've had mobile AA, missile launchers, or tanks instead.

Also consider using your commander to push with your force. it's quite easy to take out small amounts of air (which is what he had) with an AA tower or two right outside their base.

Thanks for the reply Xagar.

Was I so passive? Then that's atleast something to improve.

About the demolishers: you're right.. shouldn't have used them in this case. Just more mmls I guess.

About using the commander.. My own feeling is: if you don't need the commander, don't use it. Perhaps I'm totally wrong, because if you DO use the comm, you win much faster most likely right?

I agree that I could learn to push harder a bit more. Thanks!

I didn't say TOO passive, getting more economy up is a valid tactic. Just make sure you have some idea that you're not about to get rocked by some sort of faster attack, I would say, before committing to those last few mexes.

The commander makes an excellent meatshield in the early stages of the game that allows your tanks to stay alive and do more damage. Also, the acu has a gun which always helps.

You're right I was a bit lucky there.. smile.gif If he would be knocking on my door with 20 tanks + MMLs, I would have had a problem. Luckily I saw a fighter, then I could continue building eco.

@ The-Baron: you're right. I'll use the comm more often!
