Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

DEMO - Perfect Execution of Middle base

Replays: 48 Game:
This is my latest Middle Base design and a demonstration of how quickly I can turn to attack other players when my middle opponent is no threat. They are a team on VOIP as evidenced by Ghost cheating on my commander at the very end of the game.

I drive the mid player from the mid and he is clearly not aggressive so I turn my units on the navies and the mass of the side players. When I finally do attack his base, it is not a frontal assault but a swarm from all sides leaving his investment in point defense fairly useless and threatening the side player at the same time.

The best player on their team is the back player but he is kept busy defending during the whole game. I elect to upgrade my income slowly and pass mass on to my better protected teammates. As a demonstration of timing, I am able to kill 2 commanders before my partners, which have much higher mass incomes.

I don't think we were against the best team but the execution and timing is so good, that I wanted to show this game to new players. It flies against the general opinion that the person with the largest economy will do the most damage to the enemy.

This base is designed to ignore the middle after all the mass is gone and fight the enemy that is close to your partners. This avoids a surprise experimental. If an experimental goes through my base I don't lose much of an investment. The goal here is to have your base defended by your partners' experimental at 14 minutes.

Warning: this base will not work vs. a good spammer with a team that takes air control early and scouts. It should work vs. a weakened ACU that delays his attacks.
