Our third game today. As usual, Loui puts up quite a fight. I'm almost astonished I beat him. eyebrow.gif

lol yeah. very well played funkoff. You are a great player, no shame in losing to you.

I really thought i would be able to win this map but you got the sides with auroras which made it very difficult. I do think i played a good game but you played better^^ GGs today and i hope we meet again

If loui had went for land fact 2 power 5 power airfact start and went for transport with engis right away this would have been different. But he went for ints and bombers and this allowed funk to take islands with auroras. By time loui got around to make transport islands were swarmed with funkoffs units.

Really this shows how important the islands are. I think instead of attacking down middle loui should have went for some transports filled with tanks and engis to one of the islands because funk didn't really fortify them as well he could have, was 1-2 auroras on each island and just mex and a fact. No pds or anything, they were easy pickings for a tank drop with engi drop then PD and factory spam.

Either that or if loui had went transport drop with engis and just eat the wrecks before funkoff could move his tanks to them then just spammed t2 bots down the center. I noticed he tried this at the end but if he had done it at 10min mark funkoff would have been dead.

Alot what ifs in this game. Positive performance from our resident replay reviewing god tho. Can't really fault funkoff much here, other than to say that he could have fortified the islands a bit more and he did go for maybe 2-3 powers too many before going air factory, this allowed loui to bomb ur wrecks a bit before u got that 1st int out.

Other than that loui didn't really have a chance, at 11min he had a small breakthro but his units were scattered and it was just a really messy push from him it didn't look desperate but it looked messy, was like a line of units rushing forward when he could have pushed slowly with comm infront and cleared your whole wall and then just moved forward with a wall of arty behind the comm. But you handled it well. T2 suite upgrade on comm might have helped you and made it easier to deal with louis surges in the middle but you didn't really need it. Once you got those destroyers out it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Yeah, meph and loui said he could have won it at 12 minutes if he just pushed towards my base with his messy pile of units. I watched the replay and I think the best he could have done was a draw.

As I was playing it, I felt pretty safe with my vet + full health + ROF upgrade comm + a couple T2 units against his half health comm and soem scattered T1 units. I did not feel particularly threatened by an over-land attack that game.

Also, I realize I made a lot of little mistakes. Most of what I did that game was pretty standard for me, but I have never fought someone who did the things loui did this game, so I was improvising counter-strategies the entire game. I didn't even realize he bombed my wrecks until I watched the replay.

This replay is not perfect play and I realize this. I wasn't expecting loui to put up much of a fight for the islands, hence I didn't bother defending them that much. Good thing, too, because had I put more res into the islands, my overland line probably would have fallen to loui a lot more quickly than it did.

I think this gold is def expert and def silver. It might even be gold, simply because of all the high-intensity and comparatively skilled combat. For most of the game there were 2 or 3 separate engagements going on simultaneously.

Good game smile.gif Looks like you are getting right back into it Funk.

Def. silver but not gold. If it went to heavy tier 3 then gold maybe.

No...no... NO! out of ALL FA replays that have come to pass.. this one is DEFINITELY GOLD. Why does someone have to get heavy t3 to get a gold replay.... thats right up there with saying you need to build at least 1 of every unit and grab your left nut sack while spelling retard backwards... then you get gold.

Please, this game had many battles going on at once AND both players pushed each other hard. Funkoff had an advantage with the island BUT Loui put up a serious fight, to where it was not 100% clear Funkoff would walk away with this game until the very end when the commander was being bombed on by destroyers.

How this is not a gold candidate is beyond me, other than the fact that maybe you guys don't want a replay to ever get Gold just so it can be some retarded holy grail.

I agree that Loui could have won at 12:00 because he just left 50% of his troops at home.
Anyway this was a rather one sided game and Funkoff had total map control all the time.
