I built Janus cause 10 Janus beat up to 40 Interceptors (1 can beat up to 5 interceptors in low counts) and cost as much as 80 interceptors mass wise, but only as much as 37 interceptors energy wise! Combined with air staging they can get even better then interceptors to defeat smaller waves of interceptors (I didn't use it well). That's why I used them instead of using Stingers. They didn't kill so much cause I didn't micro the bomb drops well. They sometimes don't even hurt one unit if you don't tell them to target manually I also prepared for T2 mobile flak and Stingers are pretty much useless against it. T2 gunships take out T1 very fast and cost less mass, but it's also much easier to counter them with T2 flak and air. T2 gunships can't flee from ints, but Janus can easily cause of their extremely high turn speed. I used them few times before so they didn't work so I'm not that good in using them atm.
So if I may ask, what made you choose Janus over Corsairs for this strat?
I would have thought that with a little micro and radar coverage Corsairs could avoid a lot of that aa fire and probably score more kills on the ground thanks to the rocket spread... on the other hand they don't seem to be so good at air to air, which is something to consider when the inevitable ints come in.
Corsairs have some dodgy bomb dropping, I've seen them spray their weapon all over the place sometimes, Janus bombers seem more reliable, however I would've gone Cybran because the jester + renegade gunship is awesome.
Cybran got the better air IMO and Corsairs can totally dodge T1 and T2 flak with micro . Corsairs aren't half as good as air, though. I mainly used UEF cause I like them more I think it isn't a bad choice cause of the Janus AA abilities. T2 PDs and (IMO) T1 ground is also better as UEF.
