Hola,

This game was a lot of fun to play w00t.gif .

I start on the bottom as seraphim and my opponent is aeon. For the first 20 minutes, I use all the tactics I can think of to gain a small edge. Expect to see repeated TML uses, drops, and a couple more ideas, some of which work and some don't biggrin.gif .

My opponent does answer with his own ideas and the game starts to spin out of control eyebrow.gif . See, I'm pretty new to the game and I had trouble keeping up with the pressure. From then on, my position worsen: while I'm in line ressource wise, I seem to squander it all and I lose at the 40 minute mark.

I would like some advice on how to figure out what in-game situations like this one call for in terms of strategic decisions (that would be gaining air/sea control, building ressources, exploiting weaknesses/securing an advantage,..). Note that I made pretty basic mistakes here and there (lack of radar with drops, no defenses in key points, no unit production), but I figure they will go away as my experience grows mellow.gif .

Thanks for reading through that, I hope you enjoy the replay smile.gif

Nice game smile.gif. I think your lack of subs caused a problem; once he started making them, he was able to grab sea control. It also seemed like you wasted your T2 bombers; getting a few more by assisting and using them to attack something could have been very useful.

Nice drops and TML use smile.gif

A very good and entertaining game, well played by both sides! Wubbed!

Actually, I think the bigger problem was that he never found a good way to counter the aurora spam coming from behind destroying all his torp launchers and the sea facs (also his mexes). Perhaps centralizing his frigates would have worked good enough as defense.

Good point. I think I had a radar that showed them coming but it got destroyed. It seemed frigates would die quickly, but perhaps a couple of T2 PDs at the choke point with the two mass spots would be able to hit them from above?

The main weakness of your gameplay imho was that you allowed your units to be killed piecemeal, that is very bad... Once you lose air control you have problems, if you lose sea control as well you have great problems - read game loss.
Another problem that you didn't have plan niether for defense nor for attack. After you TMLed Ragnarok successfully you should have done smth that would finish him off. However you stood still. He consolidated and then you were dead. Anyway, it is a good game to learn.

I don't think T2 PDs would hit out from that highland.
Better put them on the lowland on the main base and cover them with shields. Speaking of that you started building shields very late.

Gunships are your best bet against aurora as they are lightly armored. At the very least you should have put oblivions on the shore, or even just have zthuee handy.

You should deinitely use more zthuees on that map. There are many mex that you can pick of from the water.

Good game though biggrin.gif

Dude you lost air control early on to ragnarok. I think its difficult to gain air control back from aeon in T2 due to the T2 interceptors. You should have concentrated on navy then onwards. I guess seraphim doesn't have stealth field gens. They stop long range units from pounding your base from beyond visual range.

I liked this game a lot. Action on land, water and in the air! Very enjoyable to watch until it became clear who would win. Excellent play by both players.
