Diffrent game this time.
Look, I know that I won this one quickly, but It's evident that I need some help. Any thing anyone can tell me would really appreciated, and would earn brownie points for the TAD section in the eyes of the rotwk section. ph34r.gif
Thanks!

EDIT: Note, that I don't want an official review, because the other player was so terrible, so don't waste your time with him. I just need a more detailed review of my game, if you guys can still get credit for that.

I count as anyone, so I'll give it a shot wink.gif

- Mongolia always gives that scout treasure, so grab it and put it to work asap always.

- Decide on a strat, and if possible keep to it. You appear uncertain in the game with where you're going - whether to boom, rush or FF. Basically, where possible, set aside the resources for what you want, and nothing more - a reserve only rots away while your opponent is on full strength.

- Always make more vills, unless you have a seriously good reason not to. Your combat skill is well above your PR - but he kept getting back in it because he had more econ. Also note that once in age 3, you can get two more TC's at a cost of 600 wood each, with the aid of your explorer. (At least for euro civs.)
Spend enough to keep the TC busy, but not so much that you can't spend on the units or whatever you had planned. I personally spend a bit much at times, but TC micro gets on my <body part of choice> tongue.gif

- Once at age 3, beeline for upgrade techs. You've paid through the nose, so get your money's worth - get the comparatively cheap veteran level upgrades for your existing units and give them a fast punch-up in power. Also use it for access to new units and cards, but it looks like that's why you bought it (access to skirmishers especially in this case, and great use of the fort to keep him pinned in).

- Your combat skills - again - are way and above the standard for your level of play, but still beware of cheap offerings. I saw pikes offered up to yumi's for little benefit. Fighting against type is ok, but only if you have a massive advantage and know you can get away with it in time. Fighting equally (hand cav vs hand cav, etc.) is also ok, especially if you lack the counter for the type your fighting. Fighting the right type is good, but not always available. Be ready to move about some more to ensure your units stay on the right types, but you've already got it pretty much covered. smile.gif
There are other exceptions, like using skirmishers on hand cavs if the skirmishers get pinned and need fast relief - obviously you would be desperately keen to bail your main troop out - but the rule is generally good. Ask the real experts for more. wink.gif

- Last but not least, watch your cannons like a hawk - they're usually first on the hit list. tongue.gif

Not comprehensive, not official, but hopefully some help.

Thank you so much, have you considered going out for RR?
You seem to know enough about the game.
Being a WiC and ROTWK player, it is not surprising that my military management is much better than my eco management.
I will work on my economy management, but It's a hard habit to break. Thank you many times for your help.

I'm getting that a lot. tongue.gif
I'm not usually head hunted either. But you're now the 3rd guy to say it so I guess I'd better start really considering it seriously. smile.gif

For what it's worth, it seems more common among players in general that their military side is way and above their eco side. It's probably to do with that if you go too eco, you'll be dead very soon - but go too mil, and it will only show up much later, and will probably be a long game.
Or it could just be that RTS is general is heading away from econ-heavy systems... tongue.gif

Or that the games I play have no economy managment. WiC is a RTT, and ROTWK has only one resourse, and all you have to do is build buildings. tongue.gif
But since you heard if from a RR now
*fingers badge*
then you should concider it. If you don't like it, then you quit, nothing to it. If you put the time in anyway, you may has well be credited for it.

True to all Cerby's comments--more econ management will be key for you in future games. Surely you will run into much tougher opponents who will immediately put pressure on you and you won't be able to build 5 cannons at once wink.gif One thing I would suggest is to send some early villies toward extra hunts and steer them toward your base for much-needed colonial food. Mongolia has great herds. You can get at least 3 under your control by age-up time. MAke sure you keep prodding them in the right direction. Otherwise you will be raid fodder.

On the specific German stuff, semi-FF is a good strat against Japan but remember that your uhlans are your life force. Build a stable if you can... unless he's all going ashi. If you go to fortress, immediately up them to veteran and hopefully ship some cavalry upgrade cards. I know your HC level right now doesn't allow you to get all the good cards, but when you do, make sure you have all the cav upgrades in Age 2 and 3. The Age 4 one is good, too, but whoever gets to Age 4 ? laugh.gif
