Something tells me you two were never in a vast hurry to finish it.

Because we both couldn't finish it....

If I attacked him, I would have lost. Cuirs kill Rusia. If he would attack he most likely would have lost because of my fort and blockhouses.

It just seems from around 30 minutes in your eco far outstrips his and he's playing catchup for the rest of the game. Sure he has cuirs, but not in the sort of numbers that would give you reason to deadly afraid. And there's the water. You have control of it, and on a map like Borneo, late game you can let loose the monitors and frigates and he would have nowhere to go.
