very gg I just played vs mardow. ~25 mins col fight, He has bigger army usually but then I got 2 nice fights where he doesnt have enough pikes.. Pretty crazy game imo, all over the map and fight for resource control in the end
You know the guy - in theory - is at least as good as you, or pretty close. So when he gets a small lead like he did here, do you push yourself harder, is there a plan to get it back or do you just wait for him to mess it up somehow and concentrate on doing everything right yourself?
I try harder of course, but mostly try to do everything right and kinda stay defensive and wait for him to mess up like he did here - he pushed and got outcountered and outmicroed. Its hard to win a won game, so leave it to him to go agressive and he'll be the one who can mess up ^^. I think he probably better could have aged up.
I think I'm starting to see my long-term problem. My response to a small loss is to go at it even harder...which makes it even worse. If it's good enough for you, it's good enough for me - in future if I make a big enough mess, I'll back off and let the other guy try his luck.
