First up, the early attack wasn't going to work out. The problem is, even once it was clear it wasn't going to work out, you guys stayed in and got killed. If you backed off (say, to a joint fb) and rebuilt, they wouldn't later have been able to chase you, and keep killing groups of 5 longbows with cav counters. Also, later in the game you had a ton of resources but only one barracks. You need to scale up your production with your econ, so you don't get left with a pile of resources you can't spend. A player with the same econ as you who HAS spent on troops, would be able to walk straight over you in such a case. I think the food was misbalanced, although that's just an extension of the above problem. You could up the wood production and push out the pikes and longbows to make up.
