Dutch vs British, I'm Dutch, and I supposedly go for a Semi-FI for Stadhouders and Waargelders, he goes for fish boom + defense, Back and forth game, I wish I had schooners for my dutch city, would've been much easier.

If anyone wants to reveiw go ahead for this one.

Btw it was quicksearch, I usually kick british players >_<.

Just because they don't have to go to age 3 to boom... wink.gif

As you wish, I'll review.

Overview was a bit overkill, but the match was pretty long.
I didn't say your FI was plain old crap, because it wasn't that simple - but I do think it was underused. Hisp probably wasn't the best map to try it on, since when water control is really lost it's almost impossible to get it back. Caribs were an interesting send, and Immigrants a nice aftertouch, but you've yet to get there as regards the strat.
I think there might be something to it, but most folks would probably just prefer the usual FF routes. If you want to keep working on it, I would say look into giving your age 4 attack a bigger kick, since by now the other guy will probably have a killer army or good defence, and map control too - you have to beat that in order to make the FI worth it. Canoes nice, but without water dance it dropped out. tongue.gif

A big age 4 powered econ might work too, but you'd have to get your econ game fixed first. wink.gif Even then, it's very late to attack and you'll probably be attacked first, so I'm not sure you'd have time to do even more hoarding.

Some thoughts. Hopefully you have a better idea than me. tongue.gif

Well, Shadox, I finally watched it and I won't wub a loss by you. smile.gif I have to say that you rarely see such novel games on GR; the mere fact that a Dutch player used Iroquois canoes and upgraded Carib blowgunners en masse deserves some sort of special distinction.

Your FI was good, but you had so many opportunities to crush him while he boomed. At one point he had virtually no army at all while you were in Industrial. I also could not understand why you let your villie count stop at 27; you could have answered his boom extremely well, and everyone knows the Dutch can build a 150-unit army quite fast once they have (as you did) a full banking district. In your first attack, you could have mounted a slow-moving mortar siege protected by the stadhouders and skirms, eliminating his fort, TC and navy. I love the protected Dutch mortar siege because it forces him to either attack you on your terms or he loses all his buildings.

For most of the game, your opponent was dangerously inactive. Aside from his small Hussar raid early in the game, he did nothing to inhibit your economy. When I play Dutch, people know to snuff me out early, because if they don't, the notoriously deadly Dutch mid-game econ kicks in (with cannons/halbs/skirms), then comes roaring right at your base. I think your BO was excellent here. With greater econ support and aggresiveness, it should easily win in the future.
