Game starts like any other. I make some muskets and then go fortress while he does a straight FF. He raids me a little with his age up hussars which is quite annoying. Now came the toughest part of the game. I had my 2 falcs, he had his 2 falcs. Whoever was going to kill the other falcs faster will have the advantage. The fight is over, both suffering casualties, and we retreat. Anything goes, any mistake could cost the game. There are many other encounters by both TC's. Many culvs and falconets are made. Game ends in Industrial

GG! Good Watch!
40 min game
Enjoy
Review Would be greatly Apprecieted

Map Analysis

IPB Image

The distribution of resources around both player's original town center follows the same pattern, Strata(red) had a slight advantage of 1 mine & 1 group of deer. The central triangle area contains a large amount resources that could easily shift the resource balance to whoever controls that area.

Strata 2096.4

Player SummaryIPB Image

You went for a FF with rodoleros & skirmishers and followed by triple TC boom and culverin production. You had some success with your hussar raiding and you took out homer's falconet a few times with flanking rodolero & lancers. But you lost your 2 falconet shipment too early and you stopped your offensive actions after a few skirmishers with homer's forces. You should try to gain control more resources and restrict homer's booming capacity by desotrying his town centers. The lack of aggressiveness cost-ed you the game.

Tips for improvement
T In an early fortress confrontation, you should keep your falconets on your opponent's falconet and use every other unit to meat-shield your falconet from enemy attack. The lose of your 2 falconet shipment(due to enemy falconet/hussar) and your failure to destroy homer's 2 falconet shipment was a big set-back for your game play.

T Homer was producing musketeers in massive numbers throughout the game, as a response you should research Counter Infantry Rifling upgrade(200 wood, 200 coin)IPB Image for you skirmishers to make them deal 50% more damage against musketeers.

T Try to balance your economy by trading excess resources for what you need for unit production at your market.

IPB Image

T Don't send your villagers into hostile territories without escort troops, especially when you enemy was consistently raiding your economy. You lost quite a few villagers to his musketeers in that process.

IPB Image

T Keep your opponent's economy in check by constantly raiding them. You raids stopped after you run out of hussar & lancers, but rodoleros are good raiders as well, why don't you unleash those upon homer's booming economy?

T You don't have enough siege troops/artillery, this severely limited your ability to take down enemy buildings, especially the two town centers that homer built in the middle to control the vital resources in that area. You should have had a more balanced falconet/culverin ratio or train petards to make up culverin's lack of siege power.

Player Summary

You did a very nice musketeer semi-FF followed up by a powerful triple TC boom and you kept building manor house throughout early game thumb.gif . Even though you were forced to go against a mass of enemy skirmishers without any cavalry, your cannon micro and map control allowed you to out-boom your opponent. You aggressively assaulted your opponent's economy while getting ahead in both age & upgrades. GJ!

Tips for improvement
T You lost quite a few falconets to your opponent's flanking rodolero & lancers. That could have been avoided if you maneuver your musketeer around your falconet and go into defend mode(to from a square).

T You should have built a trade post at one of incan settlement around the map. The Inca natives provides power mid-late game upgrades that boosts your mid-late game economy and units. Take a look at what you missed:

-IPB Image Incan Road-building: 300 Food & 300 Coin
· Benefit: +20% Infantry speed(allows you redcoats to bayonet charge enemy skirmishers when necessary)
-IPB Image Incan Metalworking: 175 Food & 175 Coin
· Benefit: +20% Mining rate (accelerates your culverin/falconet production)
-IPB Image Incan Chasquis Messengers: 250 Food & 250 Coin
· Benefit: -25% Infantry, Cavalry, & Artillery build time(exactly what you need for late game redcoat/field gun spam)

T You lost quite a few units due to the fact your barracks way point was located behind your enemy line, had you moved the way point behind your barrack you would have save a lot of your poor musketeers.

IPB Image

T When passing through narrow roads(i.e moving in-between houses) falconets tends to stack on one another, you could have avoided that by circling around the houses. The stacked falconets are perfect targets for culverin's splash attack(you lost 4+ field gun because of that sad.gif )

Player Rating: 6.8

Game Summary:

Spanish FF v.s British semi-FF. Strata & Homer's fought rapidly throughout the 32 minutes intense combat. Even though starta hat the perfect counter unit, homer' mighty boom & valiant redcoats were too hard for him to conquer. GG! Enjoy! ROTW contender!

COOL MAN! awesome review. I especially like the map analysis part.

Is there a color pattern to the "T"s or it just does not matter?.

thanks thumb.gif

You are welcome. The T's color follows that of the rainbow(red, orange, yellow, green, aqua, green, blue, purple, reverse for the second player). You are the first one to figure that out biggrin.gif
