Any tanker knows the importance of which formation to use and which one not to use. While it may not appear to be a big deal, it becomes a big deal during armored battles and what TA can take you out! Today I'll be showing you what formations there are and how to use them.
Firstly, to change formations press Z, by default. The standard formation is the Line formation. Because of its straight line, this makes it a prime target for tank busters and generally weak in tank battles due to the fact it can get flanked easily, allowing attack from the rear. Only use these formations when protecting infantry or any other friendly unit.
This next formation is the Box formation, one that allows a lot more flexibility and protection. The reason for this is because not all the tanks are completely exposed and each tank can watch a certain direction. Unless there are a lot of air strikes and such flying around, this is the formation of choice in armored battles due to its advantages. The tight knit group is able to move quickly around the map while causing havoc! Despite what the screenshots depicts, this formation is best used when more spread out as well due to the fact when they're all so close together it's very easy to airstrike all of your tanks!
When using formations in general, be sure to continually stay on the move. If you don't, getting taken out by TA becomes a huge possibility.
