So, here's the deal.
This BO pretty much guarantees you victory over anyone if you have good micro skills to keep some of your units alive while you're raping your opponent.

This is the clear display why corrupters need at least 50% healing rate nerf.

The only way to counter this would be fast mass upgraded bh inf, spam orcas won't work if you scout and mix in few shardwalkers.

I'm telling you this so you can try and prepare for the impending mass use of this combo, at least by good players as old mecha noobs don't have the chops.

I've tested it against Avilo like 4 times and vs Optik 2x and it worked always.

Please don't abuse it cry.gif

I'm posting it in hope it will catch on and EA will realize that corrupter needs a nerf in 1.02 considering much slower gameplay/less units/spam in 1.01.

yeah beat rela/khufu with it this morning, GDI can possibly counter, but Nod can't do anything. lol btw..now everyone will do it.

K, watched the first three (GAMES TAKE SO LONG), he eco. boomed, you rushed.

This won't work vs. a scout/decent player.

Also, I'm going to borrow from a similar situation in TF2 (see my name-thingy).

Heavies (really powerful) + Medics (Heals players).

Very powerful if both players are good, but has one giant weakness.

Medics can't heal themselves, and a flank on the Medic takes them out quickly, as they're not as robust.

Try flanking the corrupters. (Hint: replace all references to "Medic" to corrupter, and "Heavy" to devourer, Someone even had an edited cartoon somewhere about it.)

And this will fail vs. any faster rush. And won't do too well if air comes into the mix.

I posted this because "pros" will undoubtedly abuse this OPness and it needs to be made public so EA will release some kind of hotfix to fix the way too powerful healing ability of the Corrupter.

Is it totally uncounterable (for non-nod faction) - probably not, but it's waaaay too good considering the investment.

Besides, I'm off to summer vacation for a couple of months soon, so it won't bother me tongue.gif

I just did some math, an all in bike rush "should" beat this every time.

Also, with the new eco. this might be a bit much, but it's not like it's uncounterable.

GDI's fast orcas rip this up.

Avilo did all in bike rush and failed...

BTW: Devouers one-shot bikes and fire very fast so... GG bikes innocent.gif

It's not that easy to use as Mechapede was, besides most good players already knew about it and "noobs" are going to fail with this...

I saw the bikes dieing to one charged shot. XD.

But you're right, in practice it might not work.

You have to REALLY micro those corrupter, you almost lost it on one of the last two games.

Also, I'll say it again, air or a flanking force eat this up.

Then you add 3 seekers to the mix. smile.gif

Bike counter:

PP-5
Ref-35
WF-55
Each bike-8 seconds.

Necessary bikes to one volley a devourer - 7.

Time 1:51

The attack force you (Maistral) used takes just over that to build, (1:15 for the buildings).

And you can attack the devourer force while it's being built.

Unless you're that bad at hitting one unit at a time, you win this match up.

1-2 Shard Walkers eat up any kind of air in this stage of the game smilie_naughty.gif

I know they come a tech tree later but wouldnt stealth tanks help with nod (neither devourers or corrupters have stealth detection.)


Also whats the counter for scorps/avatars with spectre/beam cannon support.


Or is it all a matter of tech tree, that these OP units hit at a point that nod cannot counter?

I want someone here to tell me WHY the refineries now cost $3,000. WHY the harvesters now cost $2,000. And I want someone to explain to me WHY people are continuing to ecoboom and WHY they complain when a strategy like this actually fucking counters it!!!!

HOLY SHIT.

Congratulations Maistral. You've proven that early aggression > ecoboom and that this patch is working as intended. Meanwhile bike spam would rape your strategy....
