How much thermal paste did you use? Is your case air circulation good?

the case circulation is great, it's always around 39-40 celsius, but the cpu is always 60 and upwards. For the thermal paste, I don't know how much

Take the heatsink off and reapply it with some decent thermal paste, Arctic Silver or MX-2/3 will do the trick. Make sure the fan is running too.

sorry dumb question, but now I found the real cause of the problem. Something like drive state power failure... anyone have any ideas?

I'll see if I can get the exact wording next time, but thanks for trying at least.

I placed a Hyper212+ from Coolermaster over my 965 BE OC'ed to 3.82ghz and it hovers around 45 C during gameplay. Other times, around 32 C. However, my status monitor ( AOD ) shows the temps as 52 C which has me confused. Any help here? I read a lot of reviews on the Hyper212+ which is supposed to keep even the i970 cool.

Umm I might be crazy but 60C is a fine temp for your CPU.

Sometimes the CPU fan will not be raised until CPU reaches 60C, then it just maintains that temp.
