If you ever get Men or Dwarves building a wall near your base which they then upgrade with a catapult, you will need a flyer, trolls or siege.
A catapult fort expansion is the quickest thing to get.
Unfortunately, not really useful on 1.08. it has less range than wall catapults, less HP, and usually the accuracy is bad. besides they cost double than wall catapults.
Wait 09 my friends. Meanwhile you can do something very very simple and logic, that you only learn to do it seeing any other smart player doing it.
