Starting positions:
]NG[MasterEvo/]NG[Numenorets - North
PoW|ExCePtiOn/PoW|Bikini - South

Version: BT2DC 2.1

Overview:

All in all, this was a fairly skilled game with some entertainment value. There were some serious problems through the game, but the momentum had its shifts here and there until mid-game came around. PoW started off on the defense for a bit from Bikini’s starting build-order, but they were able to gain back some momentum rather quickly. As the game went from there, ]NG[ battled with some decent offensives and hobbit summons, but slowly, the game turned to PoW’s favor. It wasn’t until a deadly offensive of cave trolls with hero and elven-unit support that the tide shifted tremendously and MasterEvo lost his base. From there, it wasn’t long until Numenorets’ base was destroyed along with what MasterEvo had left.

]NG[MasterEvo/]NG[Numenorets (Men of the West/Men of the West)

The gameplay was decent between the two of you this game. You kept up some fairly consistent harassment and displayed some nice teamwork throughout. Now, although you both created quite a range of units, it would’ve been better if you both would’ve divided up some units between each other. Diversifying some units between the two of you (in conjunction with teamwork) will be a more cost-effective way to counter whatever your enemy throws at you. I also noticed some individual problems in the early-game. You, Numenorets, sent a couple soldier battalions too many into Blinky’s base knowing he had spiderlings. You should’ve switched over to Tower Guards faster and he would’ve had a much harder time dealing with them. On to you, MasterEvo, you were putting a little too much importance on destroying Exception’s Barracks. For one, Soldiers of Gondor aren’t that good at taking unit production buildings, and two, it would’ve been better in the long run to down more of his Mallorn Trees instead. Remember that in the early-game, if you destroy unit production buildings, the enemy just rebuilds, but if their economy suffers, they might have to take risks and the game will go much slower for them. Additionally, make sure you’re moving those units, MasterEvo. Later in the game, you have several battalions of troops in your base not moving. Scout, destroy, distract, do whatever, just keep your units active.

Points of Improvement:
  • Team Unit-Mixing (]NG[MasterEvo/]NG[Numenorets): Try not to create the same units as your teammates when attacking or defending together to open up your range of counters.
  • Idle Units (]NG[MasterEvo): Always keep your units moving. Any that just stand still are a drain on command points.
  • Early Harassment Priority (]NG[MasterEvo): Try to concentrate on crippling your enemy’s economy a bit more than their unit production to deal a bit more lasting damage.
  • Enemy Counters (]NG[Numenorets): In the very early game, try and send units that can counter your enemy rather than vice versa.
PoW|ExCePtiOn/PoW|Bikini (Elves/Goblins)

What a great game played by the both of you. There’s only one substantial and one point to illustrate. Make sure as the game goes on that you’re increasing your army’s potential, Exception. Either gather a better range of units and hero support or invest in upgrades, that way, it’ll be more difficult for your enemy to counter you. As for Bikini, just remember your stances, there were a handful of times it looked like you neglected them. With the problems aside, I must say excellent teamwork, harassment and unit-mixing. Also, interesting starting build-order, Bikini, and nice job microing those spiderlings.

Points of Improvement:
  • Follow-Up (PoW|ExCePtiOn): As the game goes on, try to upgrade your armies’ potential sooner so you can keep a step ahead of the enemy on the offense and defense.
  • Stances (PoW|Bikini): Remember to vary your stances in order to achieve optimum effectiveness in different combat situations.
Overall Rating: 5/10
