The13thApostle - Mordor - East

Overview:

An excellent, exciting game between two advanced players. Dwarves started by creeping and built a mine network which encircled Mordor. Excellent unit mixing then kept Mordor on the back foot until the fellbeast was made. After this, Dwarves lost because they had no upgrades to fight against the upgraded corsairs and no archers to kill the fellbeast which together killed everything he had.

You started really well, creeping all the lairs really quickly and surrounding him with mines and a forward Hall of Warriors which you used to keep him penned in. You mixed your units really well and incorporated heroes into the strategy effortlessly and made them count. You rebuilt any destroyed buildings very quickly and maintained the pressure throughout by containing his expansion. However, you should have expanded more by your base – built more mines all over the map because you had near complete control of it. You also didn’t harass his resource buildings above the top ford. Finally, you didn’t get upgrades, which would have helped you against the upgraded corsairs. I liked the way you quickly upgraded your forward Hall of Warriors to give it defensive capabilities to give you an advantage when fighting near it. Your stances, harassment, expansion, clumping and powerpoint usage were excellent.

• Look to incorporate Men of Dale vs Mordor because they always try to get the fellbeast quickly to counter your strong ground units
• Get dwarven upgrades or battlewagons to help keep the spam under control

You also player really well, starting with an excellent spam to just about keep yourself alive. Your harassment of his mines which were trapping you in was excellent which stopped him from totally setting in around you. Your unit mixing caused him some problems, like the trolls and Mumakils, however, you did run the first mumakil straight into a group of pikes, which took off half its health. The fellbeast came just in time – Anorion would have won if you had waited about another minute. Once you started to push out, your did so excellently and he lost very quickly. Your stances, harassment, expansion, clumping and powerpoint usage were excellent. You played really well though to hold in there!

• The initial spam didn’t have enough force to break out of the box he was creating. You should have used archers as well as warriors to attack him and used to better effect the horde bonus

I really liked this game tbh...defo worth watching, I sort of ran out of ideas on how you could have avoided the opening enclosure though Valheru!

I'm also inclined to agree with Anorion that corsairs + FB are a bit OP but w/e.

This could easily be a ROTW IMO. One of the most interesting games I've watched in a while.

Errrr.....I forgot to write ROTW Contender on it . It defo is at least a contender, sorry, I'll fix that now.

WHat do u mean at least? Do you think its silver?

I meant it is at least a contender, probably the winner: I will probably vote for it in the poll. I think it just misses a silver because there are instances of not so good micro (like the Mumakil) and you not killing his Gloin when you had faster units and he had basically no health. Also, Anorion collapses too quickly really (not his fault) but if he had dragged out the fight a bit more (the positions had been reversed from the opening bit) then I probably would have given it a silver.
