Pretty close one ! A game that started pretty average but with cool fights changing the state of the game and gen points ownage, that came done to extreme no eco late game on a matchup that usually don't go this far.

Good early pressure with a nice early dragon to clear the middle and not less than three control groups for your units ohmy.gif ( not sure if you were actively using all of them though tongue.gif )

Managed to pick off two early chinooks despite a very defensive stance from the air player while getting your prop really fast, but not killing any vees, was an okay start.

I'm not sure why no overlord in the midgame and late game though ? And the fact you delayed your second wave of economy with very late middle supplies despite you clearly had a better control than him over this area ( Lotus not being able to get your oil because of the ennemy push was also a bit unfortunate, good move to move her to his oil instead ).

I guess you had reasons for those choices but I'd like to hear the reasoning. I personally think the lack of Emperor was the main reason for this game to be this hard for you, along with "aaaaa" being clearly a good player on a map that is definitely not the worst for air vs tank.

Keeping sending those lonely deadly gats in his supplies line while zoning his giant vees army away from your base with your main army was very well played and helped you to come back from a pretty bad situation.

Also, I'm not sure if this little play with the targeting was on purpose but it was a cool way to pick off an extra ambo ! IPB Image

Pretty good defense overall despite being a bit too careless/slow with the chinooks preservation. I liked how you kept your gen power as a way to remove ennemies units rather than risking them on buildings knowing an army of gat would intercept them. However, that carpet preservation was a lost bet post-13661-1143531603.gif You kept it forever only to barely kill any units with it.

The single A10 though definitely went much better. Nice strike !

You would have maybe better waited for search and destroy before your first big push, as you were in a decent position to wait for it. Despite killing the propaganda and getting to level 2, that still cost a bit too many vees for a push that maybe could have been the decisive one with search and destroy. Or a better micro tongue.gif

Nice shot on your own drone to replace it with a spy one to find the lotus ( has to be 144 z monitor ! ). However, who build a repair drone on every single vee ? post-13661-1143531603.gif Guess you couldn't afford to wait for an ambo but this shit actually is expensive if you build more than one.





Was a decent game on a very classic map and matchup, worth a wub !

I just rewatched the replay myself so I think the reason for late expand in middle is because I made a mistake and lost my first gat/ecm army trying to do eco damage (which killed only one already slow chinook) but in the meantime he had a big army. What I would do as air if I was in this position would be to attack with army on one side and send another full vee to the other side/middle. So I was scared of him getting into my base from the flanks cuz I had no vision. So I thought I can't afford to expand before getting more army or at least some vision on the sides/middle.
but he kept killing my rpgs/flamers in the middle. Then again I could expand and maybe get away with it.
And about Emperor, I guess the same reason. I remember I was planning to make some if I had gottne better eco, but I thought emperor is too slow and I needed a rather mobile army at first.
I don't really have that much experience with overlord in this MU, Is it that good?

I'm not the best tank vs air player but pretty sure Emperor with gatling canon are good. They can tank some firebase shot and destroy vee from long range + the subliminal message is a buff for your gat-ecm army. They also destroy building decently fast. The main downside is obviously their lack of mobility.

Emperors are amazing vs USA's imo, as long as its accompanied by an ECM at all times. No ECM then it will get laser locked to oblivion

ECM is just so great, I even had one game a while back now, at one point I had a single gatt tank and an ECM in the enemy base. Still to this day idk how it happened, but he could not kill the gatt, it must have killed 20+ MD's (he had all the MD's evacced and was laser locking). Also had an emperor and ECM in the same game that totally wrecked as well.

If you micro that ECM well and keep it alive its so powerful

In both instances, I had the ECM positioned behind the gatt/emperor, not in front

Think I mentioned to you or someone before, theres an old Rising tip of the week I believe that states laser locking vs ECMs is less effective then letting an MD fire like normal without laser lock.

gg, dont think air deserved to win but I guess thats how OP air is, makes up for bad play.

This game was desperately calling out for Migs and I think you took too long to expand to middle given his defensive start.

Did AFG forget carpet? Dont recall seeing one or did I miss that?

I wonder if you could have disabled the vee then quickly capped the power

Your main mistake was that you teched after 4 units which is far too early. In Tank vs USA I would just spam out of dual wfs until your opponent gives you a reason to stop.
