this is like a qm game between two noobs from gameranger. no action early or midgame, winning lategame because nuke is completely fucking retarded.

[VeVo]aDverTz^ (Tank) taking on [Hc]SkuLLcrush (Nuke) on Tournament Desert. An excting game, showing how taking it to the air can actually work well for a Tank player. The game went well into the no-economy lategame, where Tank was forced to cope with his opponent getting Nuke Cannons up. Also, this game had one of the most exciting GenPoint usage i've seen in a long time.

Will the Nuke Cannons be able to force back the superior tank force, or will the massive tank army be able to roll over the opponent? Lets find out!

Coping with Nuke's early aggression isn't always easy for Tank, but you managed to thwart his harrassment pretty well. Too bad the oil grab didn't work out as you have planned. Getting the Helixes up really took the pressure off and you could start striking back at the opponent.

You were unable to drive him off the middle until the very end of the game, but you made nice effort and killed quite a number of his trucks, thus limiting the amout of cash he was getting from the mid supplies.

You got all the necessary upgrades in time, even the Patriotism which many players neglect. The patience you had, while fighting the Nuke Cannons was great, most players would've just charged in, exposing their army
, but you planned the engagements carefully, catching your opponent off guard, with his fragile artillery units exposed. This resulted in an all-out assault by Nuke, which you were able to crush, winning you the game.

Things to improve!
  • Map Awareness! You didn't get the far oil just because you neglected your units on the flank. Starting to cap eariler and using TankHunter's TNT ability would've got you another oil derrick!
  • Always try to garrison the big buildings in the middle, the towers have much lower health

This game really was yours to lose, since for the entire mid game, it looked that you will just lock down the middle and try to take advantage of Nuke's superior late game economy, backed up by the fact Tank can't really engage into set-up Nuke Cannons and your army is more mobile. In this situation, it's not cowardly to just bunker down and force tank to fight you on your own terms, since you'll be able to win the lategame spam game. You chose to actually put the pressure on him, but couple of bad engagements, especially him catching your Nuke Cannons exposed, followed by the fact you killed your own oil, actually allowed the Tank to put the pressure on you to end the game, which resulted in him being able to catch your forces in a bad spots.

Things to improve!
  • Don't kill your own oil! In China Mirrors, the oil can be the only late game income for you. And since it's so close, it's really easy to control it. On top of that, your Black Lotus is cheaper than the Tank's, so you can always rebuy it and actually get even ahead!
  • Try to kill the enemy oil! There were many openings where a lone flametank could've killed the oil no problem. Flanking with it while pushing with the army on mid would've given him plenty of time to do the damage, and it's pretty much the only lategame eco that Tank can get.
  • Protect your artillery units! Positioning them behind your army will allow you to put the immense firepower to work, while having them protected from EMC disable. Having them in front will make it easy for your opponent to try to pick them off before they can fire!
  • Get the Subliminal Messaging upgrade! For $500, the 25% boost to both healing and the attack speed bonus, is pretty much no-brainer to get.


This game was really entertaining for me and showed pretty solid play, RotW is well deserved!
