CDS)Jump (Jump) (P) vs. FrozenArbiter (Jinro) (T) on Desert Oasis.
MUST SEE! Nearly 50 minutes of non-stop action.
The game starts with the usual Zatic push, which this time gets held off rather easily by a group of Stalkers with Blink, however, FrozenArbiter still manages to secure his natural in the meantime. He shows us the strength of the Terran Marine/Marauder/Medivac unit combination. The Protoss army at this point consists of Zeaots, Stalkers, Immortals, couple High Templar and a Colossus.
Then the expansive midgame begins. Each player secures couple more expansions, which fuel their massive production. Eventually, Jump amasses more HTs and his Storms rip apart the large MMM balls to the point where pure Zealots could finish the job with ease. FA shows some impressive micro, taking out lone Colossi and drops some cute Nukes, while Jump lands killer Storms in key battles.
Eventually, both players begin to starve. The fight shifts to the other side of the map, where another high yield expansion is positioned. The positional battles start - Siege Tanks and Nukes vs. Colossi and High Templar. Further into the game, both players run out of resources even further, which forces them to make full use of smaller unit groups: FA drops the Protoss expansions, while Jump raids his opponents mineral lines with Zealots.
I have seen dozens of SC2 replays in the last couple of days but this is the first one which could convince me to buy the game. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Agreed, but someone need to tell FrozenArbiter that you can use AA units such as a viking against the Colossus, someone also need to tell him how awesome seeker misses are.
There was an odd thing at about 30 where Jump just went in with like 6~8 High Templar and did nothing and they all got killed.
So far good game, except the counters from FrozenArbiter could have been better, vikings vs colossus and some battlecrusiers would have been awesome againt the colossus since most of the protos army was HT zelots and colosus. While marauder marine medivac sige is a counter it's more of a soft counter since his army is totally void of AA the colususes would have gone down a lot faster with vikings or battlecrusiers with yamato, hell even Thor.
It's an awesome game showing what a powerful harassment unit the ghost has become with the nuke. I'm curious why he didnt use sniper on the HTs he had enough energy for everything. I'm also curious why he didnt use EMPs on the zealots as far as I can read EMP is still AoE.
But the thing I liked the most was that the protos was red and the nuke targeter is red , I also loved that first HILL nuke. Yeah the Nuke is pretty much an awesome weapon now in drawn out games.
It's nice to know that all minerals are pretty much mined at 30~ minute.
