I was a little bit stressed at the begining because of 2 things :
- I already lost against sneakers last week (ranked game, ouch !)
- The one who will die first will lose a LOTS of ranked points due to our high ranks.
What can I say about this game ? I lost air control one more time gaving me a huge pain to recover. Sneakers had also a better economy than mine due to the fact that he used his mass to upgrade mex while I was using mine to protect myself from air dominance.
Wow, what can I say about this wee beastie of a match. Its one of only a handful of matches where, even fifteen minutes in, i'm still wondering who is going to win. I'm not always right of course when I do think I know but this one keeps you guessing.
Sneakers - North
Opted for the Land/Air/Land build order and although you did gain dominance in the sky's it was more luck than judgement. Mentel was on an even footing with you and he started Land/Land/Air. As a result your expansion was slower and you also had less units for the majority of the game. What you had though, you used well. constant harassing and raiding while fighting for the outer isles kept you level with mentel. You also invested well in upgrading your metal extractors.
Mentel - South
Your early expansion was top notch and only losing out on the air war kept this an even fight. Great use of Aurora's to guard the outer islands until your engys could claim them. Although Sneakers had the air dominance and could use this to help upgrade mex, you held one of the outer island for all of the game and this additional mass was vital to your naval forces.
Summary
None stop fighting and action. The outer islands are hotly contested while the tech race on the main island is underway. This one really does seem like it could go either way for the first 15 minutes. This is one to watch boys and girls! Get it downloaded!
I didn't think sneakers used his eco advantage as much as he should have, however. He was ahead in producction 65 to 45... almsot 50%... he could have cranked out some serioustonnage there.
Additionally, I fail to see how he thought auroras might stop a T2 naval yard. He saw it as the destroyer was building... so he should ahve been preparing for it.
If not for that destroyer, sneakers could very well have won.

At times, units firing at a factory will distrupt the building queue, either entirely canceling the build or at least denying the ability to finish construction. However, since he was attacking from the wrong side, he yard itself was offering protection the construction, so it didnt work out. At least thats what i think he was thinking
It is impressive to see how Mentel managed pump out more bots, get a destroyer AND keep air supeority while having a 50% eco disadvantage.
I guess they key scene was when Mentel managed to bomb the bunch of T3 assisting engs and thus forcing sneakers to have mass for about 10 bots in stock. I think this supports that unsued mass is really as bad as wasted mass.
