Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

Impossible matchup :(

I seriously cannot think of a single thing I could do here. His shields are better, his artillery is better, his PDs are better. Any air attack could be easily thwarted by a quick flak tower or mobile flak. His TMD+shields would make any TML attack pointless.

Of course, attacking early on with units is impossible too because he had upgraded ACU and the threat of a mercy attack on my ACU prevented me from pushing at all.

Cybran need a way to break shields from range sad.gif

Just imagine if he had used an Absolver... Absolutely no chance whatsoever.

Huh? I'd say Cybran has the biggest advantage on this map:

Deceivers.. you can use these with your Vipers and they're still useful with your Trebuchets. Oh and Viper's missiles split..
Shields can upgrade fast, and when they upgrade their shield strength gets reset. Might be an idea to pause just before it completes and finish it when it's off, never tried it.
Your artillery has over twice as much splash, if you compare the stats although they're a lot different I'd say they're pretty much even.

The last 2 lines of you first paragraph applies to him as well.. lol

Viper's missiles splitting doesn't really mean anything with the way Volcanoes work tongue.gif

Deceivers are nice, but when he's just streaming scout planes at me, they don't really accomplish anything.

Artillery splash doesn't really matter vs. shields either sad.gif

I didn't really know (well, think about) that thing with the shields, but still, if he had built absolvers then it's not going to make much difference.

Yeah, I was just pointing out that I couldn't do them either. TML is supposed to be one of Cybran's strengths, but against Aeon TML and shields it would take too many to accomplish anything. If I had stayed at T2 spamming Vipers, he would have got T3 artillery before I could accomplish anything and then it would be GG.

You're kidding, right? While splash does nothing to 1 shield, it is what will destroy a pack of shields. It is the only way to damage multiple shields, and break through. In this sense, the Cybran are best suited to break shields.

Although it is true that for just 1 shield, you want sheer damage, as the aeons have...

Yeah, splash rocks.

Absolvers aren't that good tbh. They cost as much as artillery and their range is quite naff, IIRC Vipers have the equivalent range.

While, as you say Cybran's TMLs/MMLs don't do much damage, Aeon certainly isn't defending cost efficiently vs them. You had 2 and he had to build a lot of TMD, I didn't realise the splitting doesn't work vs Aeon TMD but it's still an awesome asset. Aeon MMLs suck lol

You were obviously going to be behind in the artillery spam early on because you got a T3 mex, and imo mixing your T2 PGens with your shields is baaad.

If you think Aeon are a bitch when it gets to the 'firebase' bit, wait till you play T3 UEF on WD sad.gif

Yeah, I guess UEF would be a lot worse. I can't imagine what you could try and do against ravagers.

I can't tell whether you are joking or being serious, but in either case, I agree with Supertribe.

Joking, or, thinking about it, Firebeetles could be a disturbing strategy :your opponent pisses himself laughing, this buys you time to build a Monkeylord, you win!
