Gondor/Rohan

Power Point Routes:

Gondor:

This is a good early game combo. Usually you will need Elven Woods to counter an enemy land, but Heal can work just as well if your Rohan is aggressive and doesn't get pinned on the enemy's land too much. After that, use the normal Elves to Eagles to Army of the Dead route. Sometimes however, your team does very well in early game and you have a good economy. If you decide to get Gandalf the White then obviously you will need the 2 power points for him. This means that you won't have Elves to counter enemy trolls /pikes, but usually your combos and Rohan's peasants will work just as well.

General Build Orders:

Gondor:
  • 2 Blacksmiths inside --> Pippin
  • 1 farm out
  • 2 more blacksmiths
  • Faramir
  • Blacksmith
  • Boromir
  • More blacksmiths until 2 build plots left
  • Barracks
  • Archery range
  • 4 soldiers --> 4 archers --> combos
  • Fire arrows
  • Heavy armor
  • Banner carriers
  • Mid game variations --> your choice of mid /trebuchetss /Gandalf
Rohan: At a glance

1 farm inside --> Merry --> 3 farms out --> Stable --> Rohirrim 1 --> Farm --> Rohirrim 2 --> Well --> Rohirrim --> Demolish stable --> Theoden --> Full farms /armory --> Upgrades --> Demolish armory --> Mid game variations, your choice of archery range for combos /Aragorn /Ent rush

Early Game Strategies:

This is a devastating combo in some matchups, with a range of strategies. In this particular one, Gondor will focus on supporting his combos with leadership heroes and Rohan will take advantage of his strong economy by getting fast horses and upgrades. In the first few minutes, Gondor will send Faramir to creep the troll lairs and get rank 5. After that, Faramir is free to snipe at enemy units and help Rohan out. Boromir will be grabbing the nearer warg lair ASAP and Rohan needs to make certain it is available for Boromir by spamming peasants and keeping the enemy team on their own side. Basically the same strategy for Gondor as in the double Gondor combo, you'll need some leadership to back up your combos whereas the partner is getting horses and upgrades.

Once Gondor has accomplished getting Faramir and Boromir to leadership ranks, you are free to defend your farms and make some blacksmiths. At that point, Rohan will be all over the map with rohirrim, harassing the opponents' settlements constantly. Rohan will be the player to build the well in this combo since Gondor has 1 outside farm and will need an extra smith to balance out the slower econ.

With such a good economy, Rohan should get upgrades fairly quickly. You should get Theoden now if you haven't already done so, and save up for Aragorn and possibly more rohirrim depending on how many catapults they have. If Gondor can successfully get upgraded combos in time, you might consider an Ent rush at this point, but it depends on the situation. After Gondor finishes upgrading his combos you should attack if they are both Forces of Darkness or even if one of them is Forces of Darkness. If they are both Forces of Light its best make middle and spam catapults to be able to own their combos more. If they are completely owned its best Rohan gets saves for Ents after upgrading rohirrim and getting Theoden; Gondor saves for Gandalf to then be able to finish the game. In some situations Gondor may need to go fast trebuchets after heroes whilst Rohan get some quick peomen and heroes, but it's best to watch the replay below to see how it was done.

This game didn't finish but it's a good demonstration of how Gondor/Rohan should be played depending on the situation at hand.
