When will the tournament be played?
The games for the World Series will be played over the course of March and April 2015, starting at the 5th of March. Each round has a deadline before which the games need to be played. It is up to you, the players, to arrange a specific time and date to play your opponent.
The Ladder results will be taken on the 1st March 2015 with registration in the signup topic closing on the 4th March 2015, so be sure to post in the signup topic before the deadline to avoid disappointment.
Deadlines:Registration - 4th March
Round 1 - 15th March
Round 2 - 26th March
Round 3 (Quarter-Finals) - 5th April
Round 4 (Semi-Finals) - 17th April
Round 5 (Final + 3rd Place Play-off) - 28th April
The format
The tournament will consist of 5 rounds. Each round will be in the 'Best of' style. This means you will have to win the majority of a set number of games to progress to the next round. For example: in a 'Best of 5' match the player who is the first to win 3 games wins the round.
The games are Random vs Random unless both players agree to play a certain matchup. If you can't agree on a match up, you will have to play random.
Round 1 - Best of 5
Round 2 - Best of 5
Round 3 (Quarter-Finals) - Best of 7
Round 4 (Semi-Finals) - Best of 7
Round 5 (Final + 3rd Place Play-off) - Best of 9
The games have to be played on fixed maps as follows:
1st Round - Forgotten Forest
2nd Round - Barren Badlands
1/4 Finals - Lagoon ZH v2
Semi Finals - Melting Snow
Finals - Tournament Desert without cars
All World Series Games must be played using the anti-cheat program GenTool with upload mode
ON to make sure the replays are saved in case your opponents forget to do so.
You can download the latest version of Gentool on its
Official Website. If you have any problems with the program, ask in the
Zero Hour Tech Support Forum.
What will happen if a game ends in a disconnect, crash or mismatch?If the game mismatches or someone disconnects, the game will have to be re-played unless there was a clear winner at the point of disconnection/crash/mismatching. In this case that player will be awarded the victory. If you are unable to agree on this, upload the replay and a tournament referee will decide.
How do I report my games?All World Series games need to be uploaded into the topic that will be posted when the World Series begins. It is therefore very important that you save ALL your replays, wins AND losses.
Play your World Series games under your Gamereplays.org account name to avoid confusion.
