Battle for Middle Earth

Hey, I used to play BFME1/2 many years ago and I'm looking to get back in to the game and I'm pretty happy I found this forum. However it seems pretty dead, I scrolled down to the bottom of the page to see "180 users active in the last 15 minutes" but there are almost no new posts and 90% of the ones I see are either Necros or admins bantering. Is there a section of the forum that still is decently active that I'm just not finding? It seems to me that everyone posting has some alternate way of communicating with eachother, maybe a shoutbox or something?

No, people just don't post a lot on this forum although many view others post but rarely leave any comments as it's either not applicable or for whatever reason.

I think mostly if one player wants to communicate with another they do so on gameranger which is the platform 90% of players use to play the game.

I play BFME1 and 2 through t3a, is that not what most people use?

For some reason people prefer a third party program over an integrated server. God knows why.

I used to play with hamachi and tunngle, gameranger and such but T3a is just WAY better.

Only the smartest of players.

Some people have problems with t3a.

In most cases it is better but Game Ranger does offer some extra convenience.

But seriously how pissed off must everyone involved with T3A/Revora be, spent all this time making a "server" and nobody bloody uses it... I'd be vexed!

T3A might be good when you start and you know nobody on bfme but once you start getting good and meet other players online you will understand that GameRanger has more to offer than T3A in its current state.

Thing is tho, sadly playing ppl on the server will never make you better, since they lack the basic knowledge of the game.

It's like playing vs CPU just not the same thing as a semi decent player

The people who made and moderate the server are (ironically) the reason nobody uses it. I love irony.

Yeah the server is a great place to start, but like others said you'll never become good by playing on server.

Also, the biggest factor on where a player goes to play on this game is how fast they can get a game. As long as gameranger will have more players, and more rooms open, players won't switch and wait 3 hours for a med game.

Also on gameranger you can surf your pc while waiting for game, on server you cant

I don't see anything T3A can do to make players switch honestly.

Well banning the (at the time) best player from your server for life wasn't a well thought out move... How are people meant to test themselves if they can't play the best?

And xeha was banned at the same time aswell...

Didn't they also tell me they don't want and need me and my buddies on their server?
