This pretty much summed up my concerns at the moment.

Concerns can be justified, but stop running to conclusions before we actually get more info about this.

Well, THQ/Relic already shot themselves in the foot. Only the hint of any 'pay to win' or excessive in-game monetarization will give them bad publicity.

Well this just about killed my interest in CoH2.

So let me get this straight so I understand this, they're going to shank their dedicated fans and attempt to milk them for all they are worth?

From the sounds of it;

No more free user made custom skins: You'll be paying real world money for official custom skins, ala DoW2.
In DoW2 you can use unofficial custom skins.

No more free user made maps: You'll be paying real world money for official map packs, ala CoD.
Need more info.

"XP Boost" God, this part scares me... the only reason you'd need XP is for levels; which in turn would be for unlocking units or abilities in mutliplayer. Stinks of CoHo, the fucking shambles that game was.
Again, need more info.

"Unit Boost" I don't how this cannot be straight pay2win. How else can this be interpreted?
I understand they are strapped for cash, but milking your fan base and monetizing your game to such an extent?! Did they learn nothing from the steaming pile of crap that was CoHo?!
Aaaand again, need more info.

Stop jumping to conclusions.

If everyone keeps calm and wait for more info, rather then jumping to conclusions, then there won't be bad publicity.

youre right!
but how can we calm down man? were so excited to get info... ANY info
so we take what we get and examine it until theres new info..
they have to be carefull at what they bring up because people are going to talk..
people dont like micro transactions/ customer milking so bringing up "premium" or any sort of that is going to be bad publicity without MORE info...

further there is NO EXPLANATION on "unit boost", "xp boost" what are we supposed to think of it?
just wait for more info and dont think about what you already know?

I can confirm that none of the ‘player boosts’ mentioned in the Steam tiered reward program will provide any competitive advantage in Player-vs-player combat.

Coh 2 = Pay2Win

Alright, knock that off.

Relax you guys. This is not pay 2 win. Just because we're not ready to talk about MP features does NOT mean we've made a WWII themed league of legends. The stuff we're giving away with pre-order are cosmetic. Tank skins. SKINS. This sort of stuff does not impact the gameplay at ALL.

I can confirm that none of the ‘player boosts’ mentioned in the Steam tiered reward program will provide any competitive advantage in Player-vs-player combat.

Seriously, just relax. Everyone complaining all over the internet are acting like all the press and community people who have actually played CoH2 have lied about their experiences. Relic is still making the true successor to CoH. nothing about that has changed.

I understand the concern, believe me. I get it. I just want people to be level headed about it (especially with Quinn. People were getting nasty with him in his thread about post game stats. Unacceptable)

What I think most people are worried about (or maybe it's just me and I'm projecting), is that you're going to do to CoH2 what you did to DoW2, with a sprinkling of CoHo. What has been released so far certainly seems to lend support to my fears.

You guys certainly didn't limit yourselves to just cosmetic stuff in CoHo, and afaik you can buy wargear in DoW2.

Also, "premium" implies certain benefits beyond merely cosmetic.

I don't suppose you could state if modding (maps/skins/TC's, ect) is going to be supported? Or at least not aggressively discouraged?

I agree. It sucks that exactly that persons that cares that much about the community has to read all the partly offending things. It was worrying, indeed, but there is no need to become nasty.

Buyable wargear for DoW2 is only available in The Last Stand, which is a co-op, not PvP -.-
