As ANDoNi said: Locke made me post this biggrin.gif j/k.

I think this was a realy fun game.

I will not tell you the ending.

I've never played him before, but he said he sucked WTF.gif tongue.gif so i had my hopes up numchuks.gif .

Annyway a reviw would be apreciated. I lost my gandalf twice to mumakills cuz of terible play (trying to cast spell) but overall it was a realy gd game. I played at my regular pro lvl ph34r.gif and Locke, well, i must say that his mordor is pretty gd smile.gif

No sw. The reason he quits is cuz he had to eat and he said that i won ohmy.gif oops i did tell you the ending.

The End wink.gif

HalfBloodVampire (Gondor) v ATreeHugger (Mordor)

Map: Fords of Isen

HalfBloodVampire (Gondor)
Build Order: Merry + 1 Farm, 4 Farms Outside, Stables, Well, Knights, HS, Marketplace, Gandalf, Blacksmiths, Trebs, Faramir, UG's
PP: Heal, Summon Elven Allies, GtW, Eagles

thum.gif Warg farms (but you could also try for the southern middle warg farm as well).
thum.gif Good initial farm defense and general map control and harassment.
thum.gif Harassed Mumakil pen which bought you time.
thum.gif Faramir when the Mumakil came out.
thum.gif Good treb micro to avoid Mumakil, splitting them up and then flanking the poor beast.

sad.gif Got a Mumakil to do a full 720 on the spot with Gandalf and then got trampled to death straight after. Priceless.
sad.gif Don't ride knights around in wedge formation, only switch when you are at the building.
sad.gif Don't build a postern gate next to the first wall the Mumakil will take down if they get through.
sad.gif With a bit better coordination you could have finished the game in the raid on the base with your summons.

Comments: Gondor obviously has a good idea of the strategy and executes it well with minor micro errors and one or two howlers with Gandalf but Mordor let Gondor get away with the errors cheaply. From the start of the match you can see the map control that Gondor retains and you know it is either a stalemate or a Gondor win in the first 10 minutes. You could try putting Pippin on the wall against Mumakil with Faramir, you'd be surprised how much damage he can do to a Mumakil. I would have given you a 7 rating if you hadn't lost Gandalf cheaply twice and coordinated your final base assault with your Elven Allies and Eagles summons better and been a bit sloppy with the knight formation. Never in any doubt about the Gondor superiority in this match.

Rating: 6

ATreeHugger (Mordor)
Build Order: 2 Pits, Mills, Slaughter Houses, Troll Spam, Mumakil Spam, Fire Archers
PP: Tortured Land, Eye of Sauron, Industry, Darkness

thum.gif Towers in response to the knights but only one tower. Get 3.
thum.gif Drummer trolls for leadership but not too many.

sad.gif Get the extra mill workers faster and check the mills regularly if they are being harassed to build more mill workers. Didn't take back the farms quick enough after being harassed. Generally your economy was slow because the mills were not looked after.
sad.gif Let the Gondor economy take off in the beginning.
sad.gif Slow to get outpost.
sad.gif Castle sieges were uncoordinated.

Comments: When the first troll comes out scare off the HS rush and then immediately get the southern outpost using the troll to guard it. By the time the outpost is up Mordor will have the second troll out guarding the main base and continue to orc spam. Go in with 2 or 3 Mumakil and a Nazgul. In general Mordor was slow to harass and get map control and handed Gondor a really good economy and then spent the rest of the game paying for it. Mordor could have used trolls on the Gondor walls lots of times but never even tried and used haradrim to take Faramir off the wall. Mordor never seemed to want to adapt from the Mumakil spam after it was plain that it was all going horribly wrong.

Rating: 4

Match Comments

Gondor outmatches a slow Mordor with a great start. Not a thrill ride but at least it wasn't a camp fest. I don't think Gondor built any towers at all around the base walls. The Mumakil never got that close.

Overall game rating: 5

Entertainment value: 4

btw halfblood. it is much better to start with 2 farms in smile.gif

One of the bats of knights spent pretty much the entire game in wedge and then you probably grouped them and left the formation alone after that so a group of knights ran around in a mixture. I also spotted the 1 farm inside but I think it did allow more external farms faster at the beginning and it was the economy taking off at the beginning that won the game for Gondor so I gave you the benefit of the doubt about the starting strat. If you have trouble against a better Mordor try 2 farms to start with as an alternative and see if you do any better.

To be fair the Mordor player had a plan and tried to execute it but looks like he was out of practise rather than a bad player.

his idea is to get fast farms outside with no waiting time. (I think its a good idea, but risky.)
