Starting positions:
Team 1: (Mordor) RoyaGuard123 / (Rohan) |PORT|GLADIATOR / (Rohan) TheBock - South
Team 2: (Gondor) BnzY / (Rohan) espartanos891 / (Isen) StuntedAzrael - North

Overview:

Most of the mistakes in this match were probably caused by some furious battle lag so I won’t comment on them, but will focus on the things the players could’ve done to win the game a lot earlier. Anyways, early and mid game go at a fairly normal speed with players trying to gain map control and overwhelm the enemy. But late game was the most intense part of any match I’ve ever seen, it is the thing that truly makes this game worth a look.

Team 1 Commentary:

Early game went ok overall but you seemed to be struggling to gain the upper hand. TheBock sent four peomen without heavy armor and only Aragorn Ld into Isen’s base which had fully upgraded combos, Lurtz, and ballistas. This was a very foolish move because it forced you to retreat to your camp and allowed Isen to build the outpost right behind you and pin you in. |PORT|GLADIATOR followed the wrong build order for this MU I think, you should’ve made some rohirrim backed up by Theoden Ld and upgrades to attempt a rush on one of the opponent’s camps. You would’ve been able to do some damage against Gondor since he didn’t have tower guards yet by that point, so I think in this situation all you really need to do is keep the enemy team on the defensive to allow yourselves to build up and take advantage. RoyaGuard123 did well overall, using trolls and WK to save the other two players. Only mistake on your part was that your catapult micro was lacking, you kept targeting the same spot instead of hitting the opponents’ combos everywhere. Probably could’ve sent part of your army up to Gondor’s base to take out some of his buildings since he was helping his allies on the other side of the map anyway.

Tips for Improvement:
  • TheBock was spamming rohirrim in late game and this is just pointless since they will die anyway to mass mass Ld, lvl 10 combos, and trebs. At that point you can’t really do anything against an army like that but you still could’ve tried different tactics to win.
  • Why forget to finish off the troll lairs? Their money and PP can be more useful than you think in early game.
  • As Mordor spammed forward outposts on the enemy side, I dunno why you kept rebuilding those SHs when they were already killing the citadel with their rohirrim. Once you let one build fully, it’s a waste of money to spend 315 on a building and only get two rounds of +22 cash from it.
  • All of you should try to protect your heroes as much as possible. Take full advantage of their Ld, even when Isen has Rain since it will run out, because in late game Ld is really the only thing that can give you the win.
Team 2 Commentary:

You guys did ok in early game, got split up somewhat and played individually so this can be a bad disadvantage if the enemy team decides to team up on one of you but other than that you played aggressively. You defended your outposts pretty nicely and didn’t let them press you into your camps too badly so this allowed you to get full upgrades quickly and take the fight to their side. Still lost a lot of your heroes which would’ve proved fatal in an earlier stage of the game but since Isen had Rain and you had mass combos you still survived. Used teamwork to your benefit so I think this is what won it for you in the end since all your heroes were supporting one large army and you had map control anyways.

Tips for Improvement:
  • Abuse your heroes’ abilities from Saruman, Legolas, Faramir, Boromir, etc. as much as possible to constantly rank up your combos.
  • Gondor wasted Gandalf’s Word of Power once you got it. Instead of getting overexcited and squandering it on a few catapults and trolls, use it wisely to turn the tide of a decisive battle or something like that.
Overall Rating: 5

I'm glad that you liked it. Excellent review. Late game was a mess, only with hotkeys I can manage to get something move or shoot. smile.gif

Esperantos was funny, for each outpost & creep he yelled Mine, Mine, Me. Reminded me of seagulfs in Finding Nemo. biggrin.gif

Haha yeah. I forgot, this one is a RotWC. The mistakes might lower the chances of actually getting it but I think late game was so amazing it might be worth a contender. smile.gif

Team games would be far more interesting if replays could store what we write in chat, it gets really hillarius sometimes. smile.gif
