Greetings RA3 Community,

We are proud to announce Red Alert 3 1.12.5 . This is the latest version of RA3 that we have been working on for the past months, and we hope you will enjoy playing it smile.gif


Instructions, Important Notes, and Download Links

Instructions :

How to Install the 1.12.5 Maps :

Like the previous 1.12.4 version , this version comes with an installer . Simply put the installer in your Maps folder , and run it . Alternatively you can run the installer anywhere you want , but you would have to specify the directory of your maps folder in this case.

On Windows 10 however , the installer might get blocked , since windows 10 will identify unknown executables as potentially malicious files. In this case you can download the 7z without the installer , and open it with winrar to extract the maps to your maps folder.


How to Uninstall the 1.12.5 maps:
Simply go to your maps folder and delete them.


Where is the maps folder ?
For Windows 7, 8 , 8.1 , and 10 users: C:\Users\[USER_NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Red Alert 3\Maps
For Windows XP users: C:\Documents & Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Red Alert 3\Maps
Or you can type directly %appdata%\Red Alert 3\Maps


I can't see an appdata folder :
This folder is hidden by default, you can either enable hidden folders and follow the specified directory in the previous question , or go to the adress bar and type this: %appdata%\Red Alert 3\Maps.
This will take you to the maps folder directly. This method works for XP and any later OS .





Important Notes(Please Read):


-These maps CANNOT be transferred in-game . If they are transferred in game , they will desync when the player who recieved them attempts to play them . ViperMkVII is currently working on a solution for this , but for now , please do not transfer them in-game.

-The 1.12.5 Version of the ladder maps , will become the ranked maps. The original ladder maps will no longer rank consequently .

-For clarification , these maps contain more than just fixes for map bugs. They also contain the 1.12.5 RA3 bug fixes and graphical updates.

-These maps can be played online , without any issues , just like 1.12.4 .

Patch Notes

1.12.5 Bug Fixes:


1- Fixed a bug where migs and apollos can fire at enemy units while they are landed in an airbase.
2- Fixed a bug where Natasha can pilot snipe units while she is inside a transport.
3- Fixed a bug where units can use their secondary in buildings.
4- Fixed a bug where tankbusters can fire out of sudden transports.(Banned Exploit)
5- Fixed a visual bug where a mirage tank still displays its gap generator bubble while carried by a twinblade.
6- Fixed a bug where Allied Engineers can move while they have their medical tents unpacked.
7- Fixed a bug where tankbusters can fire while burrowed.(Similar fix to infantry using their secondary in buildings)
8- Fixed a bug where Soviet Engineers can attack structures with their pistols.
9- Fixed a 1.12.4 related bug, where units automatically engage walls.(Without being on agressive stance)
10- Soviet Refinery no longer displays it's glow/smoke effects before it has finished construction.
11- Fixed a bug where Yari Mini subs have a higher rate of fire when targeting bridges.
12- Fixed a bug where Dreadnoughts, Shogun Battleships, and Aircraft carriers, cannot fire directly after being built.
13- (Credits to TX1138) Fixed the Red Lights for the Soviet Barracks while it's under construction.(The lights no longer appear while the building is being built)
14- (Credits to TX1138) Fixed Defender VX and Wave Force Tower turret rotation while unpacking.
15- (Credits to TX1138) Fixed Spectrum Tower Passive Ability.
16- Fixed a graphical bug where seawings display flame effects while underwater.
17- (Credits to TX1138) Fixed odd V4 pre-fire graphical behaviour.
18- Fixed a 1.12.4 related bug where the Proton Collider deals more damage.
19- Tengus can no longer drop on walls. This will later be applied for all the other buildings in the next version.

1.12.4 Fixes

1- Fixed a bug where the Prospector would not collect Ore after a refinery finished deploying.
2- Fixed a bug where newly built Vindicators cannot drop bombs 5-6 seconds after being built.
3- A graphical bug where Super Reactors and Soviet Refineries would lose their smoke/glow effects when they enter yellow health is now fixed.
4- Fixed Spectrum Tower Deployment Animation.
5- Fixed a bug where wave force towers can fire their first shot without charging up.
6- Fixed a bug where you can place war factories,barracks, and naval yards directly behind each other(without leaving some space for their initial rally point).
7- Fixed a bug where frozen Tank Busters can still burrow/unburrow from the ground.
8- Fixed a bug where Striker VXs,Javelins, and Migs would not fire a missile which will finish their target.
9- Fixed a graphical bug where Imperial Warriors would not bleed while in Banzai Charge Mode.
10- Fixed a a graphical bug, where the platform for the Allied Airbase(on water) would not appear until the structure finished deploying.
Now the platform has a fixed deployment animation that plays directly upon placement of their airfield.
11- Fixed a bug where Tengus and Striker VXs can transform to aircraft models while being dragged
by a magnetic Harpoon.
12- Graphical Bug, Apollo fighters would lose their yellow trail when moving, after the player purchases Advanced Aeronautics, is now fixed.
13- Fixed a bug where Dolphins could damage land units and structures
14- Removed Production bars for the Soviet Battle Lab and Naval Yard
15- Fixed a graphical bug where the ice texture for Cryoblast and Cryogeddon would disappear before the cryo beam stops firing.
16- Fixed an exploit that allowed players to crash the game.




1.12.5 Graphical Updates:


1- Tsunami Tank's shell detonation effect given a light effect.
2- Heroic Tsunami Tanks' weapon shell detonation given a new heroic effect
3- Soviet Apocalypse Tank's Weapon given a new shell detonation effect.
4- Allied Blackout Missile given a new light effect.
5- Shell Detonation for Allied Guardian Tank, Soviet Hammer Tank, and Allied Assault Destroyer given a new light effect.
6- Apocalypse Tanks now have a small explosion effect upon destruction.
7- Slightly improved imperial buildings damage effects.
8- Decreased Color saturation and size of IFV / Javelin / Twinblade missile trails.
9- Increased particle count of Seawing missile trail.
10- Soviet Twinblade missiles now have a more visible light effect upon detonation.
11- Empire Flame effects restored to their original colors.
12- Fixed Dreadnought Fire trail, such that the fire comes out from the back of it's rocket instead of the center.
13- Burst Drones no longer have a blood effect upon taking damage.
14- Migs and Apollos afterburners no longer light, when landed in an airfield.(Credits to TX1138).
15- Improved explosion effects of v4/dreadnought/kirov/vindicator bombs.
16- Minor adjustments such as changes in color saturation, brightness, and particle count.

1.12.4 Graphics


1- Soviet Super Reactor given a new Destruction Effect upon being destroyed.
2- Soviet,Allied, and Imperial Power Plants given a unique destruction effect respectively.
3- Empire Flame effects recolored from Green to Cyan
4- Imperial Construction Yard given a Green Light effect.
5- Advanced Rocket Pods upgrades grants a recolored Firing Effect for Striker/Chopper VXs.
6- Tsunami Tank now given a more visible Green Destruction effect upon being destroyed.
7- Recolored Firing Effects for the Soviet Hammer Tank, and Apocalypse Tank.
8- Some Soviet and Allied buildings now have unique flame effects that show up in Red Health State.
9- Soviet War Factory given a small texture edit.( The red hammer and sickle is replaced with a more clear Yellow one on its door)
10- Imperial War Factory given a small texture edit.(Now has the Empire Insignia on it's door)(Credits to TX1138 )
11- Reduced Color Saturation of the Vindicator Bomb Effect.
12- Twinblade,Mig,Vindicator,Apollo and Cryocopter now have a new destruction effect.
13- Falling Aircraft now given a smoke/fire trail.
14- Heroic Bullfrogs now display a new heroic effect for their weapon.
15- Increased Tracer speed for Conscript, Sickle, Apollo, and Twiblade guns.
16- Increased saturation for debris Fire/Smoke effects (This does not refer to color saturation)
17- Heroic Apollos now given recolored tracers for their weapon.
18- Other minor changes.

1. Bullfrog's bullet are now visible but flak canons and flaks troopers are not. since they use the same kind of bullets I supposed they all shloud be visible.
Also bullfrogs bullets look awesome.

2. I had reported this before, if you chose the black color you can't see your build radius.

Yes, thats it. I added the instructions.

I already said that flack troopers, wont have a visible bullet, cause it travels too fast at a short distance... Stuff like flack cannons and bullfrogs, should have visible bullets, cause they fire at a longer range.

Yes that black color issue is something that Icemaker fixed, and since i cant get in contact with him now, i will try to find an alternative solution.

I found a weird but with the cryocopter, if you attack enemy units you can't see the cryolaser or whatever is called, its just invisible but if you attack your own units u can see it. WTF

Another weird bug, assault destroyer is not working as it should I think the next screenshot says it all

AD is absorbing VX missiles outside of its range.

Also in another test the AD wasnt absorbing V4 missiles

can you get rid of the bug that stops the mirage tank secondary ability from working and the bug causing an mcv is partially frozen (or completely) such that its speed is slowed, it will never fully thaw no matter how long you wait. This means you will move slowly and build slowly forever. also the bug that causes the repair ring of the crusher crane to appear on the airfield instead of where it should be, has it been fixed .

I will look into the mirage tank ability, as for the MCV , im not sure what can i do about that, but wel see.

And yes the repair ring has been fixed since the second revision of 1.12.2.

Can you elaborate more on the Mirage tank?

They are both placed under 1 program. These downloads are optional for those who want to alternate between 1.12.3 and 1.12 without having to delete and install the patch over and over, as well as for those who are unable to run the patch in a certain language. smile.gif

Allright. I fixed the bugs reported by l3o3d (Except the issues with the black color), i also made some slight graphical changes, such as toning down the saturation of certain effects as a result of being too bright, hence i updated the change list.

With that said, i played 3 matches vs each faction, and i am happy to say that no error/crash occurred during the test, and now the patch is stable.

Therefore i reuploaded the download link of the latest version.
