[R] tauz (defensive) vs Ironcurtain (airborne)

Replays: 2 Game:
I played this game a couple of days ago and I just can't seem to get it out of my head wink.gif

I was testing some things with defensive doctrine in some games with some good results until I meet Ironcurtain here.

I aimed for the pin from the start, but it didn't go as i hoped since he went WSC and locked down the northern munitions point. As I got very confused as to what I should go for, I intended to go for tier 2 but as I lost control of the map I didn't really know what to do. I went for tier 3 and stugs but I was outmaneuvered by AT guns and shermans. The games went on and was really fun although I got my ass handed to me by especially some very well placed strafes! At one point a strafe took out 9 volks.

So please if there are any kind souls out there who would take the time to view this replay and give me some critique I would appreciate it very much, as I am a bit of a loss here!

Ironcurtain

Doctrine:Airborne
BO buildings: Weaponsupportcenter, supply yard, Tankdepot, barracks
BO Units:Enginier, HMG, HMG

Pros
thum.gif OPed fuel point early
thum.gif I loved your strafingruns (Never got that lucky sad.gif )
thum.gif Good reïnforcing
thum.gif Good use of supplydrop
thum.gif Good HMG position to prevent to be cut off

Cons
sad.gif Lost a sherman
sad.gif Wasted a bombingrun. (not that it mattered that much)
sad.gif Never saw so much ammo (1000 WTF.gif ). You could have spent it on your shermans...

Tips:
-Dont lose shermans. They give a shitload of powerpoints and are expensive
-When you pushed back your opponent go straigth to his fuel point. It will slow his tech by ALOT.

tauz

Doctrine:Defensive
BO buildings: Whermachtquarters, Sturmarmory, Kriegbarracks
BO Units:Pioneer, MG42, Volks

Pros[/size
thum.gif OPed high muntion point
thum.gif Went for the fuelpoint (Pity you lost the battle. He OPed it so he had more time to strikeback)

[size=3]cons

sad.gif Dont let them capture your fuelpoint. It slowed your tech so your Pumas came to late...
sad.gif Lost your stug because. Could have retreat it. (2 Paras with RR >>> Stug)
sad.gif Lost many units by walking past a garrisoned HMG
sad.gif When his HMG is covering the strategic point just cap it and then retreat so he doesnt get resources. (It doesnt matter if you lose some members you can always reinforce)
sad.gif You had 3 squads of volks with MP40s with 2 squadmembers and you didnt reinforce them...

Tips:
-Always reinforce your units. Especially your upgrades ones. Its alot cheaper.
-Dont lose your stug. You lost the game because of that. After that he got strafingrun which screwed your whole infantry

Game summery:
tauz managed to wire off the south and get the MG42 in the house near the bridge early. But he didnt manage to cap the point because the HMG of Ironcurtain covered it. Iron killed the MG42 squad with his sniper and got mapcontrol back because tauz lost many units to the HMG of him in the house at the highammopoint. Iron managed to decap tauz fuelpoint and got his sherman out. At that time Tauz had his first Puma which he lost very easily to a sherman. After that a stug came but Iron had already 2 shermans with upgraded guns. tauz managed to destroy 1 sherman with his stug and 1 stolen AT-gun but when he lost his stug the game was already over. Airbornes captured everything. Tauz tried to destroy them but 1 wellplaced strafingrun destroyed 2 squads of MP40 Volks.
