smile.gif 0wn3d.gif frusty.gif u0udiablo.gif VeryFunny.gif VeryFunny.gif wub.gif thumb.gif i think there really needs to be a way of knowing your opp. as soon as the game starts. if i knew i was playing WTF i woulda played pretty differently from the get go. instead i played pretty lazily and made some crucial mistakes.

i think the main point i lost it was because i lost too many engines/inf early and had no units to cap. this forced me to go armor so i could cap my jeeps and if i had gone airborne i think i wouldve def. won. since he woulda had no push with the stugs i woulda easily countered it

i blew too many units/made mistakes/am upset about losing this one

ANGOL FARMS which i think is a allied favored map

I think that because anybody can save a replay, then the people who think up good strats etc need to keep quiet in a game and not talk. Because as you said you would (although that cant be proven) have beat him if you knew who he was.

Therefore you beat him because you knew what he would do, not because you can think on your feet.(not saying u can't)

I like the idea people can be quiet, so they can play there own game without the opponent not knowing who you are.

If replays were decided at the beginning of the game like AOK, a lot of people would never be any good, because some people just copy the good players strats, then it gets boring, same strat v same strat.

im not strictly talking about build order, although that's a part of it. i would've just focused 110% into my reactions and click speed and just improved alot of facets of my game in general

Edited the topic title. The [R] denotes a replay that has been reviewed by our reviewers, not a replay that you want reviewed wink.gif

Hopefully someone will review for you guys, but understand that most of our current RR's are European and can't review for retail yet. wub.gif

Not trying to sound impatient but a review/feedback would be great. Pillars game got reviewed so I know that some RR has to have the retail. Thanks in advance.

lol

I guess I get this one too. I think there are 3 RRs that have retail so far, or the others are just super lazy. smilie_bleh.gif Stand by.

"Lazy Calliope Spam."

Map: Angoville

Version: Retail

----------------------------------------

HankTheTank IPB Image

Building Build Order: Weapon support, Barracks, supply yard, motor pool
Build Order/Strat:4mgs, a few riflemen and jeeps, a few motor pool units then a calliope spam
Doctrine:Armor

Pros and Cons:

thumb.gif Good use of flame engies, inflicted many casualties with them
thumb.gif Gained and held most of the map, for half the game.

sad.gif Horrible unit micro and usage:
sad.gif It seemed as though you would attack move, or send units off, and never look their way again, even if they got attacked!
sad.gif You lost all four of your MGs and you didnt have to, either retreating, or supporting them better with the units you had.
sad.gif Your retreating was sluggish, and you would send completely unsupported units right to the enemy.
sad.gif Your calliopes did well at first, but then you ignored them like the rest of your units once they got where they were going, so they all died!
sad.gif TWO calliope strikes on ONE stug. SUper waste of ammo.
sad.gif Once you knew there was a tiger, you continued spamming stugs, instead of AT guns or better infantry, which cost less than half a calliope, and do better vs tigers.

sad.gif Didnt OP any points for better economy
sad.gif Completely ignored the +5 oil and ammo as well as your closest VP for a very long time

Comments:
HankTheTank, Im sorry, but thats the longest CON section I have ever written. Were you eating dinner? Or didnt you care about the outcome of this game? Ive seen you play 100x better than this. Most of the down and dirty is explained well in the con section, but the thing that destroyed you was the fact that you basically gave up once you started spamming calliopes. You used them to harrass his base with full knowledge of a tiger not far behind. You forgot about the VPs, and early game you were throwing units all over the map, and letting them die once they got where you told them to go. WTF.gif eyebrow.gif eyebrow.gif

WTF IPB Image

Building Build Order: Whermact, sturm armory
Build Order/Strat: a good mix of mgs and volks, a sniper, and then sturm units for the rest.
Doctrine: Terror

Pros and Cons:

thumb.gif OPd points for better economy
thumb.gif Good unit mix, supporting eachother well
thumb.gif Only one goliath, but used very well.

sad.gif Poor armor micro:
sad.gif Drove AC into mgs with AP rounds. That AC could have easily escaped, but you let him die.
sad.gif All the stugs you lost you didnt have to. When a calliope starts doing the circle thing, back up to a wall or unbreakible barrier, so he can only do a 180, then give you a nice side/rear shot.
sad.gif Second AC used as a sacrifice for a firestorm strike on his base, that killed a total of 1 engie squad.

Comments:
WTF, you played pretty well, but your armor micro needs a little work. Like I said, with stugs you need a wall near you. Otherwise the allied armor can run circles around you all day. Or keep your armor in small groups, even 2 stugs together is enough to be overpowering to allied armor. You attacked the same area of the map repeatedly early game. I say this to a lot of people: Do NOT attack an area you were just repelled from, unless there is close to nothing left. It is a fact: If they repell you, that is where their best defense, and their highest concentration of units will be. So why would you want to attack it? At the very least flank it. Other than that. thum.gif

Rating: 5/10

----------------------------------------

Match Comments:This match was....frustrating. Hanks play was depressing, and I hated watching it. I suppose it would be entertaining for some, yelling at the screen, but I didnt consider it a very fun watch. A lot of action, a lot of armor, good demonstration of how to beat stugs with calliopes 1v1, and a few great demonstrations of how not to.

Entertainment value: 3/10

Overall game rating: 4/10

Thanks alot. Great review, all those tips will really help me in my future games (i hope). I hope that more RRs are like you because sometimes they will only list pros and cons and then simply give a recount of the events in the game. Your advice was well recieved. Thanks again, WTF.
