Why would you watch this replay? Very entertaining match thats also has available a great audio commentary by vitensby. This is yet another replay showing how powerfull a howitzer can be if you do a carefull defensive game as infantery doctrine allied player. Even with exellent micro from the axis player apart from a very few wierd micro moments. Both players do a great job in this replay and I think you will enjoy it. Also this replay really shows exellent tank micro on both sides with infantery support and healing engineers and they are both trying to flank and block each other all the time.
Nystrom (infantery)
Early game tactic: 2x engi, barracks, rifle, rifle
Pro: Didnt loose the jeep in early game and used it very well. Won early game and had control of most of the fuel. Mostly exellent tank micro all through the game apart from a wierd moment with a m10 crashing into a house a few times. Used howitzers extremly well. So well in fact im questioning if they are slightly overpowered!
Cons: Let an early mp40 squad own your rifle squad and capping engineer squad. (retreat for sure vs early mp40 unless you got grenades) Lost a few rifle squads in late game due to carelessness. (retreat and pay attention)
Score: 8

(terror) Early game tactic: 2x pioneers, wehrmacht quarters then volks, volks
Pro: Fast mp40 letting you own a rifle and capping engineer squad
Exellent tank micro apart from a wierd moment with a stug trying to run over a hedgerow hill and pointing his main gun up into the sky for a whole tank battle
Tried to firestorm howitzer with a mad tiger dashing into the base (too bad you didnt aim close enough!)
Cons: Let off map howitzer own you allmost every time. Where you in tactical map most of the game or what?
Im not to happy with your early game fighting, a bike supporting early might have mad the difference as you lost the early game quite a bit.
Score: 8
Game summary Im a bit drained of energy so sadly this very well deserving replay wont get my full screenshot treatment. Im very glad vitensby did a great audio commentary on this replay as it deserves the publics attention.
Early game was won by the allied player who cleverly pushed for the south side as he knew his own fields where easy to reclaim since they are very open and hard for axis to lock down with mgs. But axis had a nice very fast mp40 squad that owned the allied rifles for a while.

Midgame was in the allied favour as he had kept full controll of the map. Stil the axis player where able to get out a stug at the same moment a m10 rolled out of the tank depo. Thanks to the stugs beeing a bit cheaper to get.

Then the game proceeded to a feast of tank battles not seen in many replays. Watch and learn kids, these battles where allmost perfect: infantery supporting the tanks. Repairing engineers / pioneers. Tanks trying to flank each other. Good usage of special abilities to help the tank battles. Blockage of retreating units with other units to finish off tanks. The list goes on and on.

But in the end the howitzer prooved too powerfull. Allied player had to just sit back and defend and hammer at the base. Even a very talented player like ahenian this proved to be too much. I wonder if howitzers should cost slightly more than what they currently do.
