Good match, but as an axis player I had some issues. What I don't get is why the allies, brit in particular, didn't spam emplacements like the brits I face every day in 2v2 auto. If it stays infantry and vehicles, it's a whole different game vs when brits do that vickers and mortar spam and section off large chunks of the map early. 2v2 maps are badly unbalanced that way, especially rails, where a well placed mortar can close off most of the front. That's the worst imbalance that I see in Coh, the axis have no answer to the early emplacement spam, and pro allies always throw up that early mortar and operate underneath it. Since in this match the brit didn't do that, I didn't learn much from this replay about how do deal with allies (though I did enjoy it).
In fact, from the in game discussion, it actually sounded like these players had an agreement not to spam emplacements on the allied side? What's up with that?
There was no such agreement, and nude built a ton of emplacements that game...Brits don't need to emplacement spam to win, the only emplacements I ever build are mortar pits and 25pdrs.
Appreciate the reply. With all due respect, I don't believe a single vickers was built in this match. And, if I'm not mistaken, the brit only built a single mortar pit the entire game. That hardly counts as "a ton of emplacements." Take a close look.
My concern is T1 emplacements. Frankly, the T2 emplacements from brits that WERE built in this game, 17s and bofors, don't bother me as much because they are so easy to destroy with schrek infantry blobs (plus they come well into T2). What kills me is the early T1 spam on maps like rails and wolf where the brit can lock down the front with 2 or 3 vickers and a couple mortar pits. I keep wanting to see how high level axis players deal with that (again, EARLY T1). Oddly, the brit did absolutely none of that in this match, so I was disappointed. I know these players were good, but I WISH the brits I play in automatch never used vickers or mortars either, it would make my life much easier!
Trust me, a good brit player doesn't emplacement spam, it's weaker than a tommy blob backed up by a mortar pit and snipers from the US player. Vickers are basically a total waste of MP, they only cover one area and past the 8-10 minute mark they are very easily destroyed.
