The Carrier makes its return to Starcraft 2. It functions similar to its counter part in the original Starcraft. It is available from the Stargate, but requires a Fleet Beacon to be built. It uses Interceptors, which are small gunships that exit the Carrier to attack for it. The Carrier can have a max of eight Interceptors at any given time. It can upgrade its attack, armor, shields and, additionally, the speed at which it launches the Interceptors to attack. This ability, called Graviton Catapult, is researched at the Fleet Beacon.
