The Observer makes its return in Starcraft 2. It functions much the same as its counterpart in the original Starcraft, being a permanently cloaked aerial scout. It is also a detector, enabling the Protoss player to see other cloaked or burrowed units nearby. It is available from the Robotics Facility, which requires a Cybernetics Core to be built first.
